I want (in days past I would say need) to see my Packers crawl out of the hole they've been in for the last few seasons. We'll see if the new head coach provides the necessary new ideas and leadership.

It's going to be interesting to see if the Seahawks have a defense. They will have offense this year. It's a big switch from the recent past.
The Browns will be entertaining in a good way, and perhaps bad ways, this season.

I'm hoping my Jaguars have greater success with a better QB, Nick Foles and they have less drama than last year.
Ezekiel Elliott, the man with no Super Bowl trophies, no Super Bowl appearances, a long list of legal problems and three playoff games under his belt, enters his contract year by having his representatives tell the Cowboys he is not playing NFL football in 2019 without a new contract and he wants top dollar money for his position. He's not coming to OTA's or training camp either until the deal is signed. Even his buddy, the clown Le'Veon Bell, is in his corner telling the Cowboys on social media they have to pay up.
Tom Brady, the man with six Super Bowl trophies, nine Super Bowl appearances, no list of legal problems (unless you count Deflategate) and more playoff games under his belt than I can count, is entering a contract year and I don't think anyone even knew about it. I don't recall any players around the NFL resorting to social media to tell the Patriots they better pay up for Tom. Instead, Tom came to camp, kept his mouth shut, then agreed on a salary that wasn't even in the top five for his position.
The formula for winning is obvious. I am not sure why so many owners and GM's can't figure it out.

Any team with that coach and that qb could win.
The qb’s wife is also a millionaire from her job so it makes it easier. You’re simplifying the ideal situation for any team. Most don’t have that advantage.
True, but I'm talking about the mindset to be a winner. That's an advantage any team can create if they commit to it from the top down as New England has.
Tom Brady doesn't win games because he's physically better than anyone on the field and he doesn't have the most gifted mind of any NFL QB.
Similarly, Belichick doesn't possess coaching abilities no other coach has.
If either of those were true, they'd never lose a game.
What they both have, as well as the rest of the organization, is an understanding of the game and team play that escapes these other teams. It's not about having the best players with the most money and coolest Instagram feeds that make records and movies when they aren't playing.
Owners and GM's keep shelling out the big bucks for that crap and when the season comes down to the final game, those flashy guys are usually watching the game like we are.

i expect the usual nothing from the Redskins as has been normal for the last 20 years since Daniel Snyder bought the team. Dwayne Haskins may eventually prove to be good but it won't be this year.
Quarterbacks have far longer careers than running backs, though, and they get paid much more per year on average. RBs are very lucky if they get one big-money contract.
Edit: Matthew Stafford is getting $135M over 5 years. He’s 0-3 in the playoffs and has a horrendous record against winning teams.
All true, but what I was going for is the mindset of how winners operate.
If there is one guy who deserves to sit back and tell his ownership 'I'm not playing until you pay me big money, maybe the most in the NFL', it would be Tom Brady based on on field performance.

How long before Cam Newton's recently repaired shoulder unravels and falls off? And will the Panthers new owner, David Tepper, snap and can Rivera -- when they're 2-and-8 or 2-and-9?
Will Marcus Mariota's peppermint stick skeleton hold up all season?
While Brees still has plenty of gas in the tank, I want to see Sean Payton get even more creative with Taysom Hill. What a fun player.
Only so we can see things tighten up in the AFC, how 'bout Brady goes out in week two with a non-painful injury that knocks him out for the season?

As much as I despise the Pats, it has to be Brady. Of course I have been watching NFL Films on Youtube and there are some interesting things you see. For instance if such and such play didn't happen the Pats wouldn't have had the opportunity to win another one. Football wins sometimes fall to the Lucky and in the right place at the right time team.
It's Joe Montana for me.
There was a coolness and aura about Joe Montana that I will never forget. It's not that Brady doesn't have it too, I just remember it with Montana first.
