You have a Redline. Nice! I like your 6 string basses, too. Weirdly, I mostly only like natural wood on basses. Guitars, no, not unless it's a quilted, flamed, or spalted maple top >_> I can take basses painted or natural, but guitars, nope. I don't know why but I don't make the rules XD

I spent the first 3/4 of the year buying amps and cabs... Mesa TT800, Subway 115 and 210, Aguilar TH500 and SL212 (sold that recently), GK Legacy 800 and 2xNeo 112, Trace Elliot Elf head (sold) and 110 cab, and finally a Warwick Gnome iPro.

I only bought two basses this year, and both in the same week! They are the Fender American Performer PJ and MTD Kingston Super 5 in the picture below. The are pictured with "Bassby" (Bass/Baby), my LowEnd build from a couple years ago.

So I was already in a fit of GAS this year when I officially joined TB and ended the year with two new amps a 410 and 9 new basses! I love my wife!

Only two bass shaped objects this year. Not that I haven't wanted to buy some, but maybe subconsciously didn't want to spread the income too thin. I do have a Sire L7 Larry Carlton (Les Paul) Goldtop on order, but has been delayed for almost an eternity. Sweetwater says maybe middle of January.
So for this years take: Ibanez EHB1005SMS and EBMM 2019 BFR Stingray Fretless (used).

First ever (for me) Fender Mod Shop build, a P with walnut stained body and roasted maple neck. I also assembled a fretless neck for it. (Which is pictured)

the Berantino Forte HP pictured above is also new to me this year.

this Azola baby bass is new to me this year. It replaced a Ramirez. And is such a gas to play.

After messing around with the fretless P for a while, I pounced on this Tony Franklin and am very happy with it. Put the fretted neck back on the Walnut P for good.

A bass that I originally bought brand new became available, so I bought it back. The only Big Al of its PDN run. Such a fine bass and well kept by the other owner.

Last was my one fiver, a new G&L L-2500 Series 750. Love everything about this bass.

2021 was a very good year basswise for me.

This year's Basses:

On the left, we have a 1985-ish Fernandes PJ that is now my #1. I love PJs, and there's something about the sound of this one. It now wears GZRs, new Gotoh tuners that look exactly like the old ones, and an Omega bridge. It weighs about 7.5 pounds and has a really assertive tone.

On the right we have a parts P that I put together Although I bought the body as a rando generic and the neck separately, I suspect that they both come from 2004 Affinity Ps. It's got a G&L pickup, import Hipshot Ultralights, and a Badass bridge. Yes I like high mass bridges. Why? Because!

Just one for 2021. An MTD 434-24 that I picked up here on Talkbass. Ash/Maple body, wedge neck and board. I love this thing.

I actually acquired this Dean Demonator Metalman a few years ago, in non-working condition: dead active electronics and really low buzzy action. Finally this fall I got around to rewiring it in passive blend/volume configuration and setting it up with a set of D’Addario chrome flats, and I like it quite a bit. I’ll probably rewire it again soon for two volumes, two tones...but it works pretty well for me as is; just a set-and-forget 50/50 pickup blend.

I just got this Lucida guitarrón a few weeks ago as a birthday present, after wanting one for years. I can’t really play it yet but I’m learning and it’s a lot of fun.

BB404's are great basses! Totally underrated!

Couldn't agree more. Frankly, I think Yamaha in general is kind of underrated. I also own a BB734a which I think is terrific.
