One bass this year; 2001 USA Peavey Millennium 5+ in tobacco sunburst.
Only took 20 years to find the right back-up to 2000 black teal Milly 5+

Picked up an Ultra Jazz, another ELF and a Trace Elliot 2X8 this year. The Jazz is a lovely player and the TE is a great piece of kit away from home.

Do Lakland's come with Bart's on a regular basis or just special models?

I had a buddy send it to me. He told me to do with it as I saw fit. It’s a 1997(?) Jazz Custom, hence the output jack on the side.
Barts we’re standard on early Laklands. I don’t recall the specific year but they switched to their own pickups and electronics at some point in the early 2000’s.
I will defer to someone who is both a much better player and much more knowledgeable than I:
I don’t remember if Lobster mentioned it here, but the 5-string is 35” scale, and has a good solid B string.
I hadn't played in 43 years. I had to quickly catch up. It's like riding a bike! Lost my ability to play with 2 fingers but everything else is cobweb free now.

I hadn't altered my stable since 1013 until I purchased a gently-used Dingwall NG-2 a couple of years ago and discovered how sweet the neck pickup sounds. It inspired my last custom build, the Blood bass:
Dakota red over alder, alNico V pickups (wired in series), and Glockenklang preamp. I went with the "Droc" pickup selector switch, which allows soloing of the middle (same position as the neck pu on the NG-2) pickup, as well as the "all-on" setting (awesome!). I'm done.
