i'll play...

recent retiree so plan from now on is keeping gas to a minimum. only two unicorns are on the list (g. gould ggj-5 with the maple neck and modulus tbx5 neck-thru's).

the two on the left are g. gould's with maple necks. next to it is a modulus qw5-19 bolt on with 19mm string spacing at the bridge. and the one on the right is a modulus tbx5 (absolute favorite!).

No basses this year, but a couple of really nice tube DIs and other goodies that I either needed or replaced old goodies with.

I really enjoyed perusing through the basses that other folks acquired this last year. And looking through the others that are bound to follow.

RIGHT??....

:D

And my NY resolution is a simple one....

Do better. And be better.....;)

The last night of 2023 is here and I thought I'd post my bass acquisitions for the year. I invite you to do the same even if you already sold any of them. Please post pix if you can.
Happy New Year, Y'All!!!!

Just 3 this year.

This absolutely hideous (Just kidding, @TeeSee, it’s gorgeous ;)) burst & tort from 1964 quickly became my #1:

This pristine tuxedo A width (1.5” nut) from 1973:

And the surprisingly excellent 60s Vintera Jazz in shoreline gold. My one and only Jazz and the first I’ve bought in years. I upgraded it with a push/pull series/parallel V/B/T. This thing smokes.

Tonight’s guest star is Peanut. She’s a good girl.

Even though I'm mostly a P Bass guy, I got two J type basses this year. A Sire Marcus Miller V7 and a Fender Player Jazz (which was an unexpected purchase). I like them both although it has been an adjustment. I have played several gigs with each of them and they sound great live!!!
