i thought you gave up GAS for Lent ..?? ha ...

still think you should build what you want - Warmoth Deluxe 5 1 3/4 asymmetrical neck , whatever body shape ..?
the remaining parts will give/get whatever sound you want ...

the only reason i'd suggest that is ; i've had several of the basses you have/had over the decades ... my current basses are both Warmoth .... various parts ... all used parts found here on TB ... yes they are a long way from my Alembic, Pedulla , etc ., etc.... as i keep working on my fret work and setup skills , while i bond with these necks ..!!

Sorry, I did not read all the posts, so maybe this has already been said.

I said Sandberg, but the Sadowsky would be a slim second choice.

I voted these because honestly they look and sound awesome (which all on your list would) but they would have the unique factor also. I live in Iowa - if I had a Sandberg I would wonder if I was the only one in my whole state to have one! LOL that might not be true, but those are rare around these parts and that has appeal to me. Sandowsky also. The others? I could probably easily order these from any number of retailers. I see them all the time. Does that make them not awesome? Heck no I would gladly rock any on your list. It is a can't lose proposition.

I will finally get my Fender US Geddy Lee out around Christmas or New Year. The problem is that it has taken me so long to get it, I am not that excited about it anymore (that could easily change when it actually does come home.) I am thinking about letting it go for something a bit more expensive or maybe even something cheaper. This is not a serious poll. I just want to know what some of you think.

Sandberg VM5

I have a VM4 and it's just sublime. Some of the other choices are nice too, but... I'd get a VM5 and not look back

while many Maruszczyk basses have a MM/J configuration, theres one Maruszczyk bass that can sound both exactly like a Jazz and exactly like a Stingray due to its wiring and pre.....I dont remember which model, but thats the one Id get

You really can’t beat Sadowsky’s. They just work in most situations, especially church gigs.

Sandberg. Seems the most versatile. With a reverse P and that ray pick?

I think it can be as smooth as ever and a beast at the flick of a switch.

I have a homebuild reverse P bass. Never played anything more tonally balanced. It adds that right amount off beef to your thinner strings.

So that and a MM pick in the rear? And packaged in a premium build. Sounds yummy.

If I had $2000.00 to spent I would FIRST and IMMEDIATELY go to the Tom Clement Basses website. And I would be in danger of picking a top, buying it on the spot, and emailing Tom about how excited I am to do another build.

Tom knows what he is doing. Tom is super-skilled. Tom is legit. Tom is easy to access, reliable, and easy to work with. Tom has good ideas. Tom's quality and pricing are super amazing. Tom lets you decide stuff.

Tom did me right. And that's how he rolls.
