Low Down Sound 2x15. Custom to my exact specs and about 6 week turn around time or less! Also Don is the nicest and most knowledgeable guy around.

If you can find one of the old Mesa 215's buy it. They're incredible.

Would probably get a similar sound out of two 115's plus the option of only taking one for venues that don't need both, but here's Eden's ltd. Edition 215 cab, the P1515.hello
I was wondering what the best 2x15 cabinet on the market is. Or would a 1x15 stacked on top of another 1x15 get the same sound as a 2x15.

Best 215 ever is Electrovoice B2150m
Good luck finding one

It comes in either 4 ohm or 8 ohm; handles 800-watts rms both mechanically and thermally; and uses two of the cast-frame 15" Eden XLT speakers. Since it uses the XLT speakers, this cab has that built-in low-mid hump that Eden's XLT cabs are known for. It weighs a whopping 104-lbs and comes with tilt-back casters and back hand grips to make handling easier. No idea what the street price would be but it's not going to be cheap, especially since it's a limited edition.
I've heard 4x8 cabs that go really deep and handle an open B string just fine, so the old adage of 15" for extended bass is not applicable anymore. It really depends more on the design and performance of the speaker more than the size.12's are the new 15's
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but you are aware of hand-trucks, right? And I think the new Mesa 115's are under 40 lbs. each.Id sure rather PUSH or PULL 70 lbs than carry two 50-60 lb 15' cabs.
I once owned a pair of Mesa Diesel 1X15 cabinets of this generation. They had a great caster system. Each one weighed 84 lbs. Understand that none of these were schleppable in an ordinary mid-size sedan. I eventually replaced them with a pair of SWR Goliath Jr. IIIs, which actually fit in the TRUNK of common sedans! (Think Toyota Corolla.) But those Mesa Diesel 15s had a sound to DIE for!
I think you need a second one to stack vertically...Another Low Down Sound custom creation...I call it my one cab to rule them all...70 lbs, kickback casters, tug bar, 2 Eminence 3015's , 900 watts..its perfect and Id sure rather PUSH or PULL 70 lbs than carry two 50-60 lb 15' cabs.
If its a smaller gig, I get by with my Fender Rumble 500C

^That. All of it.I've heard 4x8 cabs that go really deep and handle an open B string just fine, so the old adage of 15" for extended bass is not applicable anymore. It really depends more on the design and performance of the speaker more than the size.
That being said, I find the 2x12 to be the best compromise between volume and portability. IME a good single 2x12 at 4 ohms is more than enough to compete with a lunatic drummer. 2 decent 8 ohm 2x12 cabs can easily hang with a lunatic drummer and a lunatic guitarist.
I am very aware of hand-trucks, we used several in my old band....and yes if you can buy two Mesa Subway 15's or a Subway 215 then really the world is your oyster...lots of choices (Revsound as well). Hand-trucks aside, I still LOVE being able to slide that LDS out of the back of the SUV, and pull it into the venueI don't have a dog in this hunt, but you are aware of hand-trucks, right?
