for not huge stages like this, isnt a better arrangement to locate all subs in same spot, since the lows are omnidirectional, and to avoid comb filtering? At least thats what I read on audio forums. I dont know, just asking.

wondered that myself, along with the basic rule about not mixing different kinds of subs together, but this was answered already, i think:

I aim towards centered subs if possible. At this site, we're exposed to high winds and gusts of 50 to 60 are not uncommon. What you don't see yet is that the subs on stage are strapped together to form a very solid base... Way more supportive than anything I can accomplish with stands. Wind is a factor here in the wind surfing center of the universe...

Not optimal but given the tools we have, it seems to work better than other things we have tried.

The 181 is doing the heavy lifting the PAS boxes are there to fill in.

i don't doubt a couple more 181s in the middle there would have been awesome, in that case the PAS subs could probably have been left unplugged.

still, i can't help but think that given that system, all 4 PAS subs clustered right together in the center might have been the most powerful setup, depending on what kind of amps were pushing them. maybe the tops could have been put on stands and strapped to that scaffolding or something, i dunno.
