A lot of these are memes but Vai's at least makes some level of sense. He's got a 12-string, a 6-string with a floating bridge, and a fretless 6-string. Not practical, but it's not completely uselessly.

His Hydra guitar is even weirder, but the way he composes on it is pretty interesting and he's actually playing all the parts live, which is quite impressive to watch!
