not one of your options but i think best "bang for buck" would be Carvin B800 or Ashdown MAG 600H, IMO

I was skeptical before buying too but holy **** this thing has alot of tone! All DSP presets and such, and you can tweak them however you want. A very large amount of features too, I don't think there is an amp under 500 bucks this good.

GK 400RB is a tad underpowered for most applications. I would push more towards the RB700 from the mentioned distributor. Much better flexibility.
Always look for used gear too. I scored an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro for around $500 ($250 after trading in my Hartke).

At the rehearsal studio my band practices at they have both a carvin B800(with carvin 2X10 and 1X15) setup and an Ampeg svt 400H with an SVTHLF. The ampeg is much better, imho. I know the ampeg setup is much more expensive but it gets a great sound at almost any setting. With the carvin i can't seem to dial in a sound that is quite right. I also own a GK 400IV head which i like much better then the carvin, but its not quite as nice as the ampeg. What style of music do you play. I play indie rock with a P-bass and a pick the carvin might be great for other styles/genres.
