3 Basses to cover all.. bases?!

Guess it depends on what you are doing musically. But.......

Give me a Precision with flats, a Jazz with rounds AND a fretless Jazz w/ rounds.
Covers my current needs.

THANK you for saying it depends what you are doing musically. Posts like "a precision, a jazz and a musicman" certainly would not cover what many of us do, musically. For many, myself included, at least 1 of the 3 basses would have to be fretless.

I have more than one Fbass fretless AC6, each built specifically for different styles, but if I could only have 1 fretless bass to cover both acoustic and Jaco styles, this Fbass AC6 is the most flexible:

Upright bass with hybrid strings

p with flats

I use flats on both my p and jazz. Great tones... But to answer the OPs question... A p with flats (4 string), j with rounds (5 string), and an active bass of choice to cover more ground (I gravitate towards stingray 5s)...

I just happen to have three four-string Basses that are covering all the Bass playing I do. I have one that I favor for no special reason but really I could get by fine with almost any three decent playing Basses, or two, or one.

Ric-gotta have the bite and fast neck
Short Scale-specifically my Starfire-because its fun as hell to play and that big ol Bisonic sounds so good.

I have an SX P/J which satisfies my Pbass needs, but of course Id rather have the real thing.
Stupidly sold my Fireglo 4001 Ric a few years ago. Someday I will replace it. I miss it badly.
