I’ve been loving this one lately. Built for last year’s winter build-off. Walnut and maple, with three Rickenbacker HB1 humbuckers wired through a Freeway switch.

I've done two that I can clearly remember...

My very first "scratch-built" bass (I had made a frankenstein job a decade earlier) - circa 1988:

The EMGs were phantom-powered, as the body wasn't thick enough to hold a 9V

And in the early 2000s sometime, (just because I could!) a "Model 4030":

The 30-inch scale "4000" that John Hall wouldn't make for me in the late 80s, even though I had asked him nicely. I made the blueprints in Corel Draw, and then had it professionally built. I used an ex-soviet-military 6P3T switch to accomplish an interesting series-parallel wiring system...
