3 Wood Build Challenge!

I ended up buying four types of wood for my bass when I went to the lumberyard, oops. You can take mine (red and white neck thru) off of the list. I'm going to keep doing a build thread, but I'm not sure how to change the thread title.

I'm definitely keeping an eye on all of the other build/challenge threads and I'm really impressed with everything I've been seeing. :)

My build has been delayed by a finishing disaster, hopefully I can get it resprayed Sunday and Monday. After that I wont have a day off for three weeks. Hopefully after that I can get it sanded polished, and assembled before the Oct 1st, barring any other set backs.

So How is everyone else doing as far as the deadline goes?

The deadline is approaching faster than intended. Just another month and 3 days.

I think I can get it done if I can find a way to afford the rest of the parts.
This will be the problem for me.
I'm reluctant to use lesser parts on this build. It's a surprise for a very good friend, and there's a little higher standard because of who this is for. Don't know if I'll have the cash in time.
Add to that my throat feels like I've swallowed broken glass. Picked up a bug somewhere. If I finish on time, it'll be down to the wire.

I'm done! Is anybody else finished, or can I claim firsties?

I gotta say it was a lot of fun to be a part of this, and it really pushed me to work steadily until it was done. And win or lose, I got a sweet Bass VI out of the deal, so I'm happy!

Ronald, that looks great! And I think you probably are first.
As for me, I'm still sick, but I think whatever it is is on it's last legs.
But I have a worse problem. I posted a long explaination, but after posting I realised that I did not want to leave that reply, because it's rather morbid, and doesn't belong in this thread,
Suffice it to say that a member of my family is facing serious health issues that will prevent my continuing.I will not have the money to purchase hardware and electronics, since all of my free cash will go into savings in order to cope with this issue.
I will continue to build and post as I can, but once the bass enters finishing stage I won't be proceeding with it until this situation is resolved.
Good luck to all the contestants. It's been an honor just being part of this. Maybe I'll jump in again next year.

Well I am officially done with the type of finish I was using, I resprayed my bass yesterday, and it bubbled up in a few places. I wont have a day off until the 22nd. So I probably wont be finished on time. I am going to try and spray it with a catalysed finish (automotive urethane clear) which should dry quick enough to get finished. But there wont be any room for setbacks.

Well, I'm in school now and I never really managed to get through what I needed to get done with my bass. Things that need to be finished: Reshape upper horn, apply finish to the body, drill holes for wires, epoxy the fretboard, install all of my hardware, shield the body routes, do the contours on the body. Hmm, a lot of stuff to be finished and I don't know if I have the time to do it.
