I bought a cheapo bass neck once,it was junk.I sawed the headstock off and used it for a beer tap handle on my bar.

OK, maybe they can turn these out for that price if they
are using CNC, super cheap labor and questionable wood.
It is possable that with practice, luck and CNC repeatability
they could turn out diminsionally correct.
It is safe to say that there is absolute zero QC, touchup or rework.
Even if all those factors fall into place perfectly you are still probably
looking at undried wood that may start out straight, but isn't likely to stay that way.
All in all, I'd say it is technically possable that could get a fair neck,
at least for a time, but the odds are not in your favor.

I'd avoid them. They might play nice once theyre set up and another $100-$200 is thrown in . I just bought a knock off neck just as a temporary replacement and it's been a bit of a nightmare.
I used a cheap neck like that on my 100$ bass challenge bass, it holds up to a .120 .90 .65 .45 set tuned E standard just fine no problems and it's fairly stable I haven't touched the truss rod since initial setup, which required a fair amount of force given the massive string tension.

There are ebay sellers, and this is one, that I assume are essentially giant warehouses, and sell every possible thing cheaply imported from China. (Not a slam - Target or Walmart also do.) But one can't reasonably expect them to understand or describe well the specifics of, say, musical instrument parts. I mentioned inexpensive necks from guitarfetish up thread. These are also cheap mass-produced imported items, but at least the person writing the description and answering your email has some knowledge of musical instruments.
Yes...and wildly out of tune. Two other posts say this is a "string issue" but as I insinuated on my original post, this has never been an issue with any other instrument (2 Ibbys, a Yamaha, an MTD and a Squier).
Sometime it just makes more sense to jusy pony up the extra coin and save yourself a lot of hassles of making junk work properly.
Hell, for $30 rip the frets out and go fretless! If that is gap rather than shadowing, it wouldn't take much more to get 'em out

While at the first music store I was an amp tech at (1980) the boss ordered a Saga P bass neck for a customer. They mistakenly sent two. It wasn't worth it to ship it back at the time, so he offered it for what he paid for it...including the shipping...$25.
I built a headless Explorer bass, using that neck (headstock cut off and string retainer added.) It was too chunky, so I had to thin the neck but it was my favorite bass neck until I switched to 5 string in '88.
That neck was fantastic...still is. I think I adjusted the truss rod twice in all the years I've had it. The frets have held up without even a touch up fret dress necessary. It was as good a neck as was on my (stolen) 64 P bass.
My current backup bass is a junker Stingray knockoff I built using a cheap Silvertone P body and a used Eden 5 string neck I got off ebay cheap. I had to mildly level and dress the frets and I rolled the fingerboard edges for comfort, and it's been a great neck.
I have a lot of guitars, but never a Strat. So I built a few partscasters. My favorite has a Warmouth neck, but I bought a couple Squier Strat necks from ebay, cheap. I love the shape of a Squier Strat neck...a bit narrow, with a soft V shape...fits my hands nicely.
