yea...dig that.
ok so heres the story because you have to be dieing to know.
i go on craigslist last night at about 2am and am looking for things of interest. diesels, jeep parts, tools etc...figure i'd throw geddy lee in there to see what would pop up considering i've wanted one for forever.
so i find one about 1hr 1/2 away from me. decent right? guy was asking for 500 for it. so i emailed him. mind you this is at the same time. asked him for a few pics and condition.
i'll run you through the condition. this guy bought it to do some home recording. never gigged it. bought 3 years ago and basically used 5 times and put back in its case and closed the storybook.
so 3 years later i come along and snatch it up.
anywho, i offer him 350 because he said he was willing to take offers, my original plan was to pay around 400 if he would take it. to my unreal surprise he said yes 350 is a fair deal. so im about to dump in my pants at this point because we all know that this is a ballin deal that no one would pass up on. so we get trading emails and such and i ask him if its possible to meet half way. basically he couldnt because his car had no heat and he has a baby sooooo....i'd drive the whole way..no biggy but he went above and beyond the call and said because it's taking up my time and gas he would drop it down to 300 cash.
so i wake up this morning take a shower and all that good stuff, throw some gas in the jeep and make the trek. the guy really turned out to be an awesome dude really. very chill and down to earth. tbh i was very nervous about doing this because i was going along and this was a very good deal so i was a little expecting to get killed or have him take his best shot at doing it. i was packing a (weapon not mentioned) just in case, but if he had a gun obviously i would've been effed.
so on top of that he threw in the skb hardshell case too...HOOOLLLLLLLYYYYYY SH(BEEEEEEEEEPPPP).... long story short this is the deal i've been waiting for since i became a bassist. this is just short of cleaning out someones attic and stumbling over a 62 jazz in mint condish in a case and the owner saying i could just have it... damn today was good.
the only bad thing i can say is it needs a setup or needed a setup real bad. the neck was backbowed like a mofo....so that kind of sucked. and the truss rod is hard as absolute hell to move so im a little scared that the truss rod is busted....god i hope not. any who i know i know no pics no bass well here you jackals!!!
oh yea heres the best part...he was a guitarist!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BASSISTS FOR THE WIN MY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!
