That's how I envision the final Wonderlove looking, with the "Sub" switch being the "Wah" switch that incorporates Spencer's new "expression prototype" (that's now internal) and activates the expression jack of the filter.

And a big ole juicy Wonderlove logo right smack in the middle! :)

I thought the expression jack was going to be external?

That would be an insta-buy for me. I love the idea of the external box to switch between Expression and Auto but having it integrated into a "Wonderlove Deluxe" would be so so sweet.

LBB just arrived. +1 on all the previous comments; the Bass Frontiers review nails it spot on. Simple, elegant, tasty.
Like some others here, I'm going to use it at end of the chain for extra beef/oomph while slapping or palm-muting.
Since I was holding the leftover space on my board for the Octabvre, this means I need to buy a bigger board... which also means I'll have more space to consider upgrading from the Proton to the Wonderlove... and round and round it goes!

Good question, I have both on my pedalboard at the moment and they are quite different flavours of a similar effect.
I prefer the Proton at the moment , as I like the way it plays with the You're Doom and it is a little easier to dial in. ( the Wonderlove is easy too dial in too, but the Proton is easier still)

The Wonderlove is more flexible but it is actually quite difficult to dial in the Proton sound that I like with the Wonderlove.
The Wonderlove does have the effects loop which I have used at times, but I prefer it when I am not using the loop. However I know a lot of others swear by it.
Like I said different flavours...
I must say if you asked me the same question in a couple of weeks I might say the Wonderlove...

Not sure if this answer helps too much...but I tried...

Thanks! I'm using Proton with Y'Doom now and like the combo too.

I find the Proton quite different in tone.
Plus the effect loop was not for me, goes to show how much the bass, amp , preferred sonic differences and playing technique change from one person to the next.
I think this is especially the case with envelope filters where dynamics change the response greatly.
With envelope filters you can use the same equipment around the filter (bass, amp etc) and playing technique differences between two players can make it sound quite different.
just my 2 cents...

I prefer the Wonderlove. Maybe a bit trickier to dial in but the effect loop is a great feature. You can use the pedals in the loop separately, or with the filter, and not worry about changing the filter settings to compensate for any gain change from the pedals in the loop.

Well, I'm really excited to find out for myself this week. I've put off getting a WL long enough, and now there's one headed my way. I can't wait to try it with an expression pedal too. But no matter how much it blows my hair back, my Proton has tenure and won't be going anywhere.

And I definitely agree: You're Doom + Proton is dope.

Thank you for reply guys. I'm going to try and compare my Proton with WL tomorrow in a show room. I just liked the idea of exp pedal input with WL, it gives killer synth tone stacked with Y'Doom. In case with WL I'm a bit scared by number of controls on the box, I'm a one knob guy really and I like it being simple like Proton and Y'Doom. As for octave I've just seen videos with TWA The Great Divide octave and liked the idea of such combined synth octave+fuzz device. The only problem with it is its price around $400... What do you think Octabvre will cost? I'm really hesitating between these two especially after such long wait time for Octavbre...
