3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Super curious as to what's next for Spencer after the Octabvre is released... Is there going to be a new version of the Wonderlove or something totally different? I just played a buddies Moog MF-101 and loved it minus the size and the hiss it made when engaged. Can the Wonderlove get "Moogy"?

As a huge fan of moog I can tell you that I think the WL sounds better than the MF 101.... And then there're the other facts.... Smaller, cheaper, easier to dial in the sound you want

He mentioned an overdrive on FaceBook a while back

That's what I wanted to hear! Just sold my EHX Enigma 5mins ago through Kijiji, just wasn't feeling it anymore. The hunt for a Wonderlove begins!

Ya I remember that, wasn't sure if he was being serious given the recent news of the 3Leaf/Darkglass partnership ending. I would just hate ordering a fresh Wonderlove to have a new one released shortly after. I'm sure the existing one is incredible, I should really just buy one and get off this damn forum lol.

Oh man, don't get me started on this! I am here as a 3leaf fan specifically because of extended struggles with the MF-101. So, I'm not ruling out the probability that I was at least partly to blame for this because of ineptitude or something, but I could never get it to click for me (even though I desperately wanted it to work and was convinced it should work based on the time-honored Moog name). Then based on further research I picked up a Proton, and after one minute playing it put the MF-101 on eBay.

The humongous size taking up tons of real estate on the pedal board and the special power supply were drawbacks, but I was willing to live with that for a long time. What was the final deal-killer for me (apart from the A/B comparison to the Proton) was that the pedal when engaged resulted in a slight but noticeable reduction in volume, and although other Moogerfooger pedals had an internal output control to compensate, the MF-101 did not.

A little taste of the Octabvre:

This is practically a promo video for 3leaf, including the You're Doom. Sealed the deal for me on the Octabvre (not like it was really in doubt).

Tim speaks so fast sometimes it's hard to understand, but does he say under his breath there that the Octabvre name is "crappy"? Probably joking. So is Tim going to officially endorse this thing as some kind of "signature"/named pedal, or is the name just an informal joke among friends?

I think he said "crafty." That does indeed seem to be the name.

I think you're right; I can hear "crafty" now too. I know that's the name, I'm just wondering whether this is actually going to be an officially endorsed pedal, e.g., like a Fender signature bass (except hopefully not paying extra for royalties!).

Nearly middle of November... I feel like one of those angry housewives outside of Walmart on Black Friday!

Just got WL and played through it with Doom in front of it. Hands down the WL is the best envelope filter I tried. With YD it's a perfect pair. And Proton stays on my board as well, they do have different tones and each is damn good in front of YD. The only thing missing is Octave. As soon as it's in place my Akai Deep Impact will hit the road...
