Not sure if anyone read this part:

It starts with the popular Tim-tuning mod from the original and takes it further with a reworked tone knob that runs the gamut from classic OC-2-inspired thump to all-out sub fuzz.

So this is more of the Tim-tuned variety than the original. I prefer the Tim-tuned version, but others might feel differently.

Yeah, I saw that. Honestly, I was really wowed when I heard the first demos of the tim tuned version. That is the one I wanted, but I preferred getting the COG T-16 because of size. The T-16 is still going to be the Octave on my main board, but this small 3Leaf will be great on one of my other boards. I am actually very happy that it is the time tuned version. I was also hoping it would be white
Nice option to have for people that dig Spencer's octave but don't switch back and forth between the soloed octave and the octave/clean mix.

Im curious how it sounds with the fuzz octave side and if it is like the tone I get from You're Doom > OC2/T16 or cooler.
Man, why did I have to see this today. I was relatively GAS free. There goes that....
It's not really a "fuzz" octave. My guess (an educated one from owning the big box Octabvre) is that Spencer is doing the same thing IE does with the Subterranea or Cog does with the T-16.
I'm not a circuit designer but my understanding is that the OC-2 uses a flip flop circuit to create a square wave tone an octave lower than the input signal and then that tone is filtered to get it sounding closer to a sine wave. I'm assuming that all of them are just adding a level control to that filtering effect.
FWIW, the tone knob (at least IMO) had less effect on the sound after my Octabvre was modded to be "Tim Tuned". I was happy with the trade off because I liked the deeper octave sound but with the "standard" tuning the tone knob all the way to the left was very video game/angry robot sounding. It was great for synthy sounds, especially into a filter. The Tim tuning smoothed it out considerably.

I'm interested in hearing or learning more about the "all-out fuzz" circuit -- whether it's something new, or what. Per website, "the new tone knob blends together two independent tone circuits," classic OC-2 and "a fuzzy square wave version of the octave down circuit."
I agree that the original tuning Octabvre was very synthy and gritty on the CW side (which I prefer), which the Tim-mod tamed down substantially. Curious to find out if the Mini's tone knob sounds like the former, latter, or something different again.

I got mine today, I'll plug it in soon and see if it matches my original Octabvre big box (non-Tim).
The right side of the knob, the "fuzz circuit", is definitely more tame than the original big box circuit. I didn't own a Tim-tuned big box, so I cannot compare if it is the same as that or not.
Overall, I'm very happy and impressed, but I do miss having the craziness of the original circuit.
