Question for the Doom (or You're Doom) users. Can you dial in more of a "regular" fuzz tone (something to use in a rock setting) or is this pedal have a synth characteristic in all settings? Asking as I do like the online demoes I've heard thus far but I can think of a couple instances where a regular old fuzz sound would be useful. Trying to avoid getting 2 fuzz pedals as my board real estate is low.

I would say yes...for my tastes it could be used as a warm distorty fuzz. Maybe others may be better for what you are looking for but I think the YD could suffice.

I just got a YD recently and it's worked so far for me as a regular fuzz. Dynamics are a big thing with the YD, it slightly changes with your technique. For the music I'm playing it works great. Its probably not for everyone but that's why there are a ton on the market... I've only had one rehearsal (3 loud guitars too, yikes) with it but I found enough to cut through and add an edge to passages that needed it.

I'm most impressed with the YD in the loop of the WL Deluxe...it just kills!!

I will 'third' those claims. Definitely capable of some "serviceable" standard fuzz sounds, as you said. Depending on the bass you play, the treble/tone knob opens tons more possibilities with that pedal. I think Spencer alludes to the same in the manual. IME, moderate/higher treble into the pedal results in more of an edgy, standard fuzz tone, albeit more dynamic & responsive. Roll back the high end going into the YD, and you get a a warmer, more synthy character. Take some time to get to know each control, and you should find a number of usable sounds.

Funny you mention that... I use active Sadowsky basses and was messing with the VTC and the YD/WL Deluxe combo last night. The VTC has a wide impact on the overall tone of the YD/WL - like you said roll it back for some fat synthy goodness, crank it up and let the Bwaaaaaap rip!!!

Im just addicted to the Wonderlove with the You're Doom in the loop. There are so many killer sounds on tap. Or "toanz" as some of you may call it. :D Adding a little delay and phaser creates a great texture to the bwaaap.. so cool and such a rabbit hole if you aren't careful, lol.

I've got the Octavbre mini on the way for some extra madness and annoying the geetars...

You're gonna love it! I think my Octavbre is my most-used pedal, currently. :thumbsup:

OK guys... this track is using the Octavbre Mini and the new TC Electronic Flashback 2 with the brand new Crystals setting. I have the Mini with Mix full CW, tone is at 9:00. I discovered tone this last night and have been driving my lady insane all morning. :)
