3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Yep. "Chromatron" and it's Spencer's new and improved envelope filter:

"The Chromatron is an analog state variable filter like no other. It can switch seamlessly between envelope control and manual control via expression pedal, unlocking psychedelic tones and textures that will surprise and inspire. It features an original envelope detector circuit that follows your instrument dynamics in a musical way, and a low-noise signal path using only audiophile-grade components. Press the MODE footswitch and the filter cutoff is controlled manually via expression pedal. The expression pedal sweep has been fine-tuned to be smooth and progressive, allowing you to achieve lush, synth-like filter movement."

Seems like his site is down right now. Anyone else experiencing the same?

So the control layout mirrors the WL Deluxe, albeit with some renaming of certain functions. And mode is to engage an expression pedal. So the big question is how the new filter responds & sounds compared to the GR, GR2, WL, and WLDlx...

New Controls:
Response/Attack/Decay/Tone
Mix/Resonance/Boost
Switches: Range, Sweep, Band, FX Loop

Obviously the Wonderlove's successor....

Looking forward to the first video of this beauty in action. And compared to the WL deluxe.

Definitely want to hear it in the wild compared to his other filters. GR2 and WLv1 are my favorites for fatness and their unique characteristics. The WL Dlx has better control features than the V1, but the filter in the v1 is just a bit fatter and rounder to my ears. Here's to hoping the Chromatron is even fatter and funkier.

Yes I agree...the v.1 Wonderlove is the juiciest incarnation. I'll never sell mine...unless.... :)

I am looking forward to this pedal. I went from a GR2 to a proton to a wonderlove V.2 to a Mr. Black Fwonkbeta to MXR filter and ultimately back to the GR2 as my favorite pedal for its strong full sound. The proton and wonderlove and all the others for various reasons just did not work as well for me (never got to try the wonderlove V.1). We will see if this new pedal dethrones my GR2.
