The Octabvre is a combination of an OC-2 and a Mutron Octave Divider, neither of which are bass-specific, so the point still stands. I know of at least one guitar player using an Octabvre Mini, and one keyboard player using a Tim-tuned Octabvre.

No they're not bass specific, I'm not sure about the Mutron, but the OC-2 is commonly used with bass, and the Octabvre was developed for a bassist.

Guitarists use bass pedals, and bassists use guitar pedals. This isn't anything new and it's been this way almost as long as there's been pedals.

If he's not trying to market to bassists he sure has a funny way of showing it.

What about the Pike Vulcan and Vulcan XL? those are exclusively bass dirt. Also the Octabvre?

Clearly the pedal named after Tim L is focused on bass players, but anyone can use it -keys. Guitar. So people will argue that due to basic pedal function. But I get what you are saying.

Yes I have faith in the Chromatron because I have built trust in whatever Spencer has created over the years. I think at one time or another I've owned just about all of the 3Leaf pedals, Never felt like...wow, that was a waste of money...like I have with so many others. Of all his creations, I put the Wonderlove on the top of the list. It took me some time to figure it out, but once I did, it became my favorite bass envelope filter of all time. So if the Chromatron can dethrone the WL, well, I guess for me a new standard will be born. Don't let me down Spencer!

This is a very exciting new pedal! Spencer has delivered amazing products and the ones I own are part of a permanent basis.

First was the GR-1 and I’ve had it for many (probably 10) years and it will never leave.

Next was the Proton v.2 (wanted the Decay on a knob) and that is also permanent.

My Wonderlove Deluxe has quickly become one of my favorite filters with everything it has.

Also the Octavbre v.2: it’s an OC-2 mixed with a Mutron, volume boost if need be, true bypass with those awesome switches, a SUB with dedicated footswitch and it sounds KILLER.

My last love is the You’re Doom. Dynamic synth fuzz. First demo sold me!

Mr. Doren your new product has once again captivated my attention.

You’re putting words in my mouth. I never said that he wasn’t marketing to bassists. I said that he wasn’t marketing EXCLUSIVELY to bassists.

Furthermore, and to quote Spencer directly from the 3Leaf website: “3 LEAF AUDIO makes innovative effects pedals for guitar, bass, and anything else that makes noise.” ...and then quoting him again from the Pike website: “Pike Amplification makes products for bass.“

Wondering if there is going to be any kind of bass demo (or a more extensive general demo)..

I'm interested in checking one out, but I need to know more/hear more before I do

Sounds like the filter may have advanced envelope detection. Has anyone tried using a Wonderlove after a Future Impact pedal? A challenge of synth pedals is getting the filter to reset fast enough on those 80’s analogue style mini Moog sounds. Sometimes it can cause tracking issues. I wonder if opening up the FI’s filters so it tracks really well, and then using something like the Chromatron could help there - it may very well just be overkill.

The PWNZOR compressor may have been optical, but I'm not certain.

Interesting that this is a ground-up filter design considering the GR and WL were both Meatball variants. Spencer has great ears, so I'm expecting this filter to sound great.

Yeah I had a PWNZOR and it's an optical compressor. Never heard of an optical envelope filter.

Go on...I have been wanting to add a wah and this caught my eye as a way to have a wah and maintain the groove regulator vibe amd footprint. I just assumed the wah on the wonderlove was great since the pedals sound so good. Is the wah via expression pedal not really usable? I was hoping to get a 2 for the price of 1...

The expression pedal with the Wonderlove Deluxe works perfectly. And sounds just as good as the envelope setting.

This is the first 3Leaf pedal I've been interested to try in a long ass time. It looks really good to me. I'd love to hear a fuzzed out bass demo.

It sounds just as good as the envelope setting for sure, but there's just something about the way the envelope filter opens up that I can't duplicate with the pedal.

It's definitely usable!

Spencer messages me that he was at the shop dropping these off. I headed over and hqe walked me through the differences between this and my WLD. It’s dope. I’m buying it. To be more correct, I’m buying the FIRST one to be sold out in the wild.

More info to come once I get home and can A/B with my WLD. Initial impressions are that the envelope’s sweep is more predictable and controlled than the WLD (which was no slouch), and the midrange is fatter on the Chromatron. It’s capable of much slower sweeps too, which isn’t really my thing, but I can still dig it.
