The Doom in the loop of the Wonderlove is my favorite thing ever.

(well, nowadays it's the Doom II and the Chromatron, but whatever)

I let the Wonderlove go and kept the Micro Tron on my board. Those two together are great. Octabvre is great with them too.
Doom will be on the chopping block once the II gets here. Some Octabvre's will be leaving too.
I currently have the MKI and MKII w/ Tim. MKIII on its way. Only going to keep one...

the MKIII just came today and holy poopie, it sounds amazing I must say. It does sound slightly different than the MKII, and the range of sounds possible with the separate wet and dry volume knobs is much greater and more nuanced than the old mix knob. I am in love all over again hah

Also, side note, I just got a short scale bass with tape wounds, and it's interesting how differently it interacts with pedals compared to the roundwounds, especially octave pedals. When I blend in the clean tone the smoother tape sound combines differently with the octave than the round wounds. It's a match made in heaven with the MKIII

Lack of a Master Vol. makes the MKIII Octabvre a non-starter for me, unfortunately.

The clean volume and sub volume aren’t enough? Seems to be par for the course for octave pedals.

Since there’s a dedicated sub volume on the MKI/II versions as well as the MKIII it’s just like VVT vs VBT on a Jazz bass. You can achieve the same balance on all of them.

I took the plunge and pre-ordered from the next batch of Octabvres at the end of the year. Trying to be patient. It's hard.

I understand the feeling, though I’m not waiting for the 3leaf stuff (I got all of those end of Octoberish) I just placed my Noble order. I remember the wait for the 3leaf stuff and it’s not fun . Overall, waiting in general sucks and I’m ready for everything to be here.

The band I'm planning on using the pedal with primarily had to suspend our practices for the month due to covid concerns (go figure) so at least it's only a personal problem, not a professional one at thIs point LOL

I keep eyeing the Wonderlove V1 in the classifieds, but I think I really want the features of the WLD. Please advise, slash does anyone have a WLD for sale?

My initial thoughts:
The Doom 2 is a more refined version of the original Doom.
They're both fantastic and really unique.
I dig the 3 band EQ on the 2. It's perfect for dialing in the tone in your head.

Octabvre...
I've had the MKI as well.
I found that the I and II sound the same.
I'm struggling to get the III to sound exactly the same as the II.
Both sound great, but I was hoping for the II in a smaller package.
Anyone else have this experience?

I'm going to keep messing with each, but I'll most likely end up letting the Doom go and one of the Octabvre's.

Hmm, I want the octabvre but not sure which. Not sure the doom is my flavor of dirt but I do have a pwnzor and black box that I would love to pair with an octabvre.

Nice run down… Excited to get my doom 2. Got my shipping notice on Friday but no scans yet. hoping it’s moving soon!

I agree that all of the Octabvres Are a little bit different. Super similar at the same time. I’ve had a mini, II, III but never at the same time. Currently the III. I did really dig the simplicity of the mini. I think vol/mix just is inherently different than vol/vol. Spencer even said so on some of his posts…. That the circuits are the same but the vol/vol there Was just something a little different about it. And I agree, but I can’t really put my finger on it either. He preferred the vol/vol circuit But that’s definitely a ymmv scenario.

It’s a great lineup of octave pedals, And they all sound about the same but also still offer something a little different from one another…

I've had a MKI Octabvre and Wonderlove V2 on my board for the last 6 or 7 years. My gf got me a Doom 2 for my birthday last year, and I just got the MKIII Octabvre last week.

I haven't done a crazy comparison between the MKI and III. MKIII sounds great, but I was expecting the TIM switch to be more dramatic.
