3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

from a 3leaf/effects newbie... is it basically correct that 3leaf/Spencer manufactures small batches of his pedals each year and that you have to be quick to the punch to get them? I'm considering buying a Proton used but I'm also happy to wait and see if I can snatch a new one if he reliably makes them each year.
In the past, he's had a few drops, per year, of each pedal he offers. Things in the past year though have been a little different, there's posted plans of drops in the near future, but so was there (before he moved) back in November. He hasn't called it quits, but definitely spending more time on other things.
It would be nice to see something new, or old favorites like the PWNZOR come back though.
Just keep an eye on the site (and instagram), he seems to post updates there

This is my First post in this Amazing 3leaf club. although i might not have a bigger and more complex board as what other awesome tbers we have in this amazing group, i can say that i truly appreciate spencers work. so i am here to learn more from you folks and deeper my understanding on this killer pedals… Music moves the soul! Nice choice in comps, from top to bottom. I'm from the camp that the PWNZOR isn't a comp, and more of a tone enhancer, but it really is amazing. I've been through a few and it still is my favorite, always on - I really wish he would make more
Thank you sir! The COGS sounds fantastic. it has shaped the tone i wanted for my ears, built like a tank and definitely one of the best versatile tones combining it with 3leaf for an even more powerful and moving tone. Cheers!
i agree sir the pwnzor can do so much. wether its compressing tones or more like an enhancer it does good either way. ever since i had yhis on the board it always stays on and and has always provided me with that tone tightness i needed. i do hope sir spencerr makes pwnzors and also chromatrons as well in the future . although it might harder to find components for both lineups but man those two pedals sound so so so good. The Chromatron is my favorite, oddly it's not hooked up at the moment. I need a buffered split to run a dedicated signal to the chromes input for my envelope trigger.
If you really want to unlock the Chromatron's potential (or any effect with an fx loop for that matter), get a matrix based switch controller. It's changed the way I look at effects. I can add any pedal before, within, or after the envelope trigger, mix, or both, with a single click of a button. Wonderlove, GR2, and Chrome all take advantage of it. Any quarrel with the way they mix, solved. VERY fun!

Morningstar has their ml10x, it requires TRS>TS cables for mono i/o connections like most of your pedals use, but it's more affordable than others. I use a Soundsculpture switchblade 8F, its more money, but has buffers for every port, which translates to never having problems with levels, this helps when having so many different brand effects. I haven't even gotten a midi controller, I create what I want and flash the switcher via PC - real easy. There's not many matrix based ones out there, most have loops, but you can't re-order the loops, they're fixed in a series path.
This is my current play ground, the switcher is mounted underneath, it's about the size of 2 1/2 chromatrons side-by-side. There's eight separate loops here, you can see the switcher besides the anadime.
Even if you only used 7 or 8 pedals, you could really use them to their full potential
Well, you can use that, but the order would change like a patch bay, physically switching the I/O cables. The ones I mentioned are digitally controlled analog signal paths, I use the provided software or the UI on the front. Looks like they're coming out with a stereo one though. With enough cables you could do some really cool blends
