The Chromatron is much more refined but I really liked the GR2, it has some serious stank & the Wonderlove v2 has more of that bubble funk goin on...

Of the Protons, Ive only tried the v4 & it was really nice as well... its my belief that you really can't go wrong with any of Spencer's filters.

The Wonderlove v1, as expected, is a fine filter device. While it has its own voice, there is plenty of overlap with many of my favorites. The singular thing that stands out in both my 3Leaf filters, Proton v4 and Wonderlove, is their ability to produce an up sweep and a down sweep with the same basic settings. In every other filter I’ve used, when switching the direction of the sweep, you must also make big adjustments to the other parameters to make it work. My plan is to find the right couple of devices to place in the loop, resulting in analog synth tones.

THANK YOU! for bringing this up, I so wish someone would make a filter that, even with the tap of a stomp switch, could change direction with a predicable trigger. I've even thought why not make a pedal with two filters, which could independently be turned on/off. I once had my Chromatron setup to sweep up, followed by my IE XD setup for down sweep, with the correct decay settings on the chrome it sounded really cool.

But like you said, very hard pressed to find a pedal which you can just flip that switch and not have to scrub your entire setup - and retain full analog control

See, I’ve never played a Mutron. My comparisons are with EBS, Guyatone, Subdecay, Pigtronix, Broughton, Iron Ether, and Souce Audio. Once I got my Guyatone Ultron, I didn’t see the need to go Mutron.

Throw a good octaver & square wave fuzz in the loop & you're in synth territory.

I grabbed that from the classifieds, current favorite filter. Would be nice if it had the fx loop buffer & the expression option like the Wonderlove v2 & Chromatron. All & all I prefer it's tone over the 3leaf, Mutron, Moog, & XD

Absurd. I bought each of these pedals in the past 6 months and it cost me no where close to $3K. Seller's right that they are desirable and hard to find, but $3K is just exploitative.
