I'm just glad my limited edition (1 of 10) wood faceplate Octabvre is still going strong.

I'd love a Doom 2 again and regret selling mine, but I'm not (a) getting involved in these hyped up, sell out product drops or (b) paying a penny more than the new price for a used pedal. Someone should just clone the damn thing already -- start a whole new controversy.

That's not a bad idea really since a lot of the beauty of the 3L pedals are the aesthetic beauty of the enclosures which I don't believe is an easy thing to copy for the average DIY'er. Those that don't care about such things can get the sound without the hassle. Or do like Zvex and have a normal enclosure for less dinero.

It might drive interest in originals, too, since there are so many corksniffers out there that are going to scream from their high horses that the original is always better.

I was following along while it was ongoing. Definitely don't need to rehash it.

Tons of pedals out there are cloned or copied. The copies don't seem to have put anyone out of business yet.

Especially when you get into drive pedals. It's mostly a market derived from variations on a few circuit-themes. Speaking of which, DemonFX is about as blatant as they get, and I am definitely considering trying some of their stuff...

Got my new Octabvre in, immediately shot it out against my old Mini and my OC-2 and honestly they're all very very different beasts. I don't know how I feel about the new one just yet; seems like a more mid-forward, tighter octave pedal than my other two. The "mini" is still my fav, but I've been playing that for so many years now, I'm just used to it. The OC-2 is probably a close second to it, where the new Octabvre sounds like its own thing. Don't know if I'll keep it and would consider trading it for a Doom 2

My v2 DLX got down to 350 I think, side by side the Chromatron, Chromatron being very nice, but not close to double the cost of the Wonderlove. I like to think, even though 4 different names with many different iterations of each, they all have 3leaf character.

Same "phenomenon" is happening with the newest D2/MK3/Proton verse the exact same pedal a couple years ago, and as the "hand painted" IE pulling more than the newer IC board plated pedals..

Wonder how it will be a year from now?
