My wife apparently had a Psycho Chihuahua sign in her room growing up. Now it's a running inside joke. To be fair, I had a Stussy and Makita girl poster that wasn't embarrassing at all.

No worries, I keep Snausages in my pocket for just such an occasion. And also because they're delicious.

I had a Mk2 until Eileen was born and daycare got expensive. I should have kept it and sold it now for $37k.

I look forward to sharing intel the next time we run into each other.

Great comparison! MKIII and MK3.33 sound like completely different takes on the OC2 vibe. There's definitely a case to be made for having both on ones board. I'm loving the sound of sub soloed with tone set somewhere clockwise and "Overload" switched on--wow! (but that was in a different comparo vid)

BTW, I have the same Doom 2 and Octabvre colorways :thumbsup:

Bravo for doing such a great comparison vid. You did exactly what was needed.
My take: With both tone knobs set fully CCW, the older Mk. 3 will probably sit better in a dense band mix. However, the new 3.33 seems to be able to get close to that sound a little higher into the tone knob’s range. If I were starting from scratch, I’d prefer the new 3.33. However, my Mk 3 sounds so good in a mix, I don’t have a desire to upgrade (yet).

For sure! If you want to poke through, MkIII has gobs of mids to do that in spades, but Mk3.33 sounds like it can provide a deeper foundation that’s felt, like Moog-Subphatty-feel-it-in-your-chest (at least through my headphones). It’s all in the use case and how you want to “sit” in the mix.

Hey folks, I am toying with the idea of trading my big box Octabvre MkI for one of the newer MKIIIs, but was curious on whether this would be a good move. I'd like to save a bit of space on my board so the MKIII seems appealing from that standpoint. It seems like the big box ones are worth more currently, is that the consensus?
