+1 It's amazing how some heads can really be impacted by different cab voicings, versus other heads that seem to work well with just about anything.

I'm in such a tizzy over the SD800/410UL(II) that I just can't quite get myself to swap it out for the Walter at this point. It does sound darn good though!

Well yeah, the WWU is a piece of crap, but I'll give you 100 bux fer it. Might even chip in for shipping. Hey hey hey, it's ok, don't mention it... we're buds... it's ok. Just get it boxed up. You know where it goes... ;)

I've had this love/hate relationship w/ the WWU for such a long time. I've never been impressed with the way it sounded through the Epifani UL line. The cabs that it sounded best with were too heavy for me to take to a gig when using such a tiny amp - it seemed counter intuitive....

Anyway, I do like it more with the S2 410UL than I did with the S1.

And, no Vic, you can't have mine either!

That's a great way to put it, and I agree 100%. I really only use mine with my Bergantino 's' stack at this point. It sounds great, but I agree it's funny to use a 7 pound head with a 100 pound pile of cabs:D

It's amazing how many times I've thought about selling the Walter, but it's so funky and unique, I just can't get myself to do it. It does sound great with the Berg HT models though, for those times when you want that sort of 'Anthony Jackson' pure and big tone.

The WW's sounded great with the T and NYC Epi cabs I've owned but not with the UL, PS and the S1. It does a better job with the S2 but not my favorite choice but it's works well as a second amp when I'm doubled up on gigs.

Yeah Ken, I thought about selling mine a while ago when I got the UL902C, yet I'm bonded to it some how. :rollno:

And no Vic, you cant' have mine either. :scowl: :D

Looks like someone pushed the right button! Just wanted to throw out a quick ask on this S1/S2 choice. I have an Eden WT800B which I hear is pretty compatible with the UL410. At 1100W bridged into a 4 ohm cab it should have a nice full sound and plenty of headroom. I usually end up cutting about 3dB around 800-900Hz and adding about 2dB around 250Hz. Would the S2 be a better choice with the WT800B?

I just traded my WWU, and I'm selling my 'backup' Stereo. Maybe it's a bad move, but I love the UL series so much that I just don't see myself going with any other cabs. I tried a Berg HT322 with the WWU and had to sit down---it was just increadible. But, alas, I prefer the weight of my UL310. And the tone ain't bad neither. ;)

The WT800 is a great match for the UL line. They compliment each other very nicely.

Both would sound fine. My buddies in Detroit who have heard the WT550 with both models unanimously prefer the S1 with the Eden WT line (550 and 800), but both sound good. The S1 really brings out that little bit of growl from the Eden head, and adds some nice burp, which doesn't seem to come through as much with the slightly more modern S2.

As I A/B more and more, I'm finding the S2 behaves very nicely with cleaner, wider, more modern voiced heads (Walter Woods, SD800, iAmp), but the S1 REALLY matches up well with heads that are designed to growl and grunt a little (Eden WT, LMII, Thunderfunk, etc.).

+1... I actually have the Berg 's' stack (basically a modular HT322) for my Walter, and it sounds GREAT. I have not liked the Walter much with virtually any other cabs (although it was killin' recently with a new 210/115 LDS stack that TBer Shelly owns), and I REALLY don't like the 's' stack much with other heads I've tried. That's just a very nice match-up to me.

That being said, the WT800/410UL (I) pairing is amazing. I actually have a couple buddies who use that rig with a variety of basses, and it sounds SO good out in the room... providing lot's of bottom, but a lot of upper mid growl and grunt that really projects note definition out into the room in a mix. And, the slap tone from that rig is amazing.... crisp, but with lots of warmth also... no scoop, plenty of sizzle, but that unique mid definition that lets you hear each note. Both of them are using an 8ohm 410UL with an older WT800 bridged.... nice!!!!
