4th of July gig report

It's the 4th of July and for this year that means Party in the Park in downtown Bonita Springs, Florida. When I was a kid the park was a baseball diamond with an old train depot next door. Now it is a very nice green space with a band shell, artist cottages, and a small museum.

The morning started off with a fresh set of strings and packing up. I have a light load for this one since someone else will be handling the PA.

I made sure to leave a little early so I could stop at my favorite taco spot, which happens to be right across the street from the park.

Now that the tacos are gone, it's time to head over to the park. More to come later.

Here's my rig today. X32 rack to control the in ears for the band. Mesa Subway DI for the bass with my standard pedal board out front.

As of now we are in a holding pattern since the lighting alarm went off. It looks like we will get a little sprinkle. The crowd is a little small at the moment but it will get packed pretty soon.

Diego is ready to go regardless of weather.

Things got a little ugly but by 7 the all clear signal sounded and we were off to the races. The city employees did some games while we were getting our stuff back in place. One quick set and now they are holding a hands free ice cream eating contest. Then we will be back up to play until firework time.

It turned into a pretty good day and we get paid the same no matter how many notes we play.
