5 string fan fretted 36"-34" all in Wenge

I stopped following this after post #51. I thought after that last pic, it was done. I just came back to hear sound clips...LOL

actually, I just found this thread going through it now almost killed myself laughing while at work when I saw that pic... Looks awesome so far, cant wait to finish reading this thread.

Ahah! Basses don't work to well with all the parts simply taped together!

The bass is not finished it... no time at all.

Finally I'm going to finish this bass.

I disassembled the hardware and I sanded it down to 800 grit,
then 4 coats of homemade danish oil, and I did the fretwork too.
The Wenge is got darker in a good way, the back is steel grey here and there,
while the quartersaw neck/fingerboard is chocolate brown.

And I did some changes under the bridge in order to have a bigger string/bridge angle.
I will make some pics while assembling it.

I was gonna say exactly that - the barbs on the upper bout and horn, combined with the red accent veneer, give it a "smoothly aggressive," almost reptilian vibe to my eye, which I really like. Aesthetically speaking, this definitely has to be one of my top 5 favorite basses. Looking great!
