This is a perfect example of why I spend so much time on this forum...this kind of "outside of the box" design and detail inspiration, education...and information, you can't get just anywhere.

I saw on Carl Thompson's web site there is a page devoted to showcasing CT "look alike" and tribute builds submitted by others. Were you thinking about maybe submitting this bass? It would definitely put all of the others to shame... As well as alot of the work done by Carl himself. You have in fact, out-CT'd CT!!.... In my opinion

But what do you think about its tone?
I think it has an unique voice, it doesn't sound like a Fender or like something else, and probably it's not suitable for dub or reggae music, but it should be perfect for rock/metal!

After listening to the sample I can't help but think it would sound a little better with Barts' instead of EMGs. But that may just be my personal preference.
Does it really weigh just over 7 lbs? That's amazingly light!
