There are lots of places... he looked around for a bit to find what he wanted, and waited for idealistic sales. pricewatch.com is what he uses, I think... it will get you the lowest prices for what you want.


hell, i got an AMD 64 3400+ on an Asus Motherboard for $128 shipped.

Crysis does look amazing, but isn't a current game. It isn't supposed to be realeased until sometime in Q3 of this year. If the game will run like you're showing on the current "ideal" or top-of-the-line PC, then once it's released in 4 to 8 months you'll be able to run it on a considerably cheaper PC.

I look at a lot of the benchmarks for some of the top end systems with games and while it looks impressive on paper, it is often overkill. Looking at Tom's hardware reviews, the latest generation of gaming PCs can run the latest games with the graphics at the highest settings at well over 100 fps with your modest 1600x1200 display. The only time they get close to any bogging down is when they get in the 45 fps range with graphics at their highest settings putting out 2560x1600. The only displays I know of that can do that kind of resolution are the handful of 30" displays. I suppose you might be able to get that kind of resolution on some of the older CRTs.

What's Crysis? Is it some kind of graphics card or is it a kind of Mac?

Www.cyberpowerpc.com has some AWESOME desktops and laptops at some low prices (compared to Dell with the same specs)... That is Awesome!
Although it seems that everything with 2GB or RAM is almost twice as expensive as those with 1GB of RAM despite other specs. And there are some desktops with 512MB of RAM and 2 256MB video card, somewhat pointless... No game, now days, requires less than half a GB of RAM...

Very true, its not out yet but this system here is whats considered whats needed to run it near maximum video resolution and top of the line graphics.

You can play it on a much weaker system... i think minimum req's are supposedly a 3.6ghz processing unit, a 512 mb DDR Video card, and 2gigs of ram... and thats video set all the way down.

THere's another game, thats just as amazing, its a mystery. You're set as a detective of some sort, wish I could remember the name, but its just as intense, graphically.

Quite the contrary, it enhances the game speed DRASTICALLY. It takes HEAPS of work off of the CPU and in turn allows for more fps!

Yeah, but of course a system like this will be considerably less money by the time this game comes out. At least I hope so as I'm getting an itch. :D

It better be !!! Lol...

You can run the game on a system of half of this ability, and even tho its graphics will be ground breaking they have a lot of other cool environmental detail and I think if you have a PC thats just able to run it, its worth picking up... People are too swept up in the graphics (And for good reason !!!) but they forget, this is going to be a good game as well.

Point your mouse at "Notebooks" without clicking and a dropdown menu will pop up. From there choose AMD64, Centrino Gaming or Centrino and a side menu will pop up with various models to choose from. Example, I went to Centrino Gaming. When the side menu popped out I clicked on the model "(Core 2 Duo) Xplorer X5-7800" and it brought me to the page for that model showing all the customization options I can choose from.

So technically I was wrong in saying "Just click the word 'Notebooks'" so sorry about that.
