Have you looked at the Rockbass line from Warwick? I also had one of the old Warwick Streamer Standards and loved the same dimensions you mentioned. I picked up a Rockbass Streamer Standard (Right) and a Rockbass Streamer LX (Left) and they capture a lot of that same feel, but they both feel lighter overall

the Standard is a 2016 and the LX is a 2012. Yes, they both have those maple necks

I've had the German made Ovangkol neck ones that are even heavier and the necks were thick like human necks. Maybe the RBs are different?

Yes, I think they feel sleeker and lighter. I will compare the Warwick standard to the Rockbass standard on the scale this evening. Plus they have newer updates like 2 piece bridges and newer hardware. I’ve actually kind of “retired” my Warwick one, and only play the RBs now

I will also say the Ibanez SRs are generally light and have tight spacing too, but I only have 6-strings of those.

it turns out all the neck measurements are pretty identical. BUT the overall weights are Warwick: 9.8lbs vs RB: 8.2 lbs (according to digital bathroom scale anyway). So there is definitely a decent weight difference.

they seem to pretty much do Wenge fretboards (except for Fretless). I was browsing their site looking at specs earlier today

No real downsides other than the following:

- they kind of “feel cheaper” than the older heavier Warwick in a way, but that’s really just due to the lighter woods I suppose since all the other neck dimensions are the same.

- The RB Streamer Standard also suffers From the low volume output that the old Streamer Standard suffered from. I eventually replaced the pickups on my old Warwick, but haven’t on the RB yet.

-The RB Streamer LX is technically the superior instrument (spec-wise), but when slapping I don’t love how far up the neck pickup is compared to the soapbars on the STD.

All that said, I really enjoy both of them. Here’s examples of my playing both RBs for reference:

I second the MB-5. I have a sunburst '94 Fender MB-5, and it got me through 20 years of road work plus a music degree with bass as my main instrument.

How about a Schecter. I've seen a lot of working bassists use Stiletto Studio basses over the years, and those have slim necks and narrow string spacing.

Schecter 5s are usually 35" scale, but it's been said that the way they balance, first position is not a far reach.

Or perhaps the B series from ESP's LTD line would work. Their basses with "extra thin U" neck profiles are nice and fast. Products - B Series Basses - The ESP Guitar Company

A Kiesel Icon might work for you too: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (Kiesel used to be Carvin. Be warned, though, that while many folks love Kiesel, others do not and think Jeff Kiesel is a bit of a jerk.)

If you're going to go Ibanez, do NOT go BTB. BTBs have 35" scales, 19mm string spacing, and 47mm (1.85") wide nuts. The Soundgear line has the kind of dimensions you're looking for.
