Not the best pictures..
Currently GAS'ing for a new 6'er. I want a tighter B, a thicker sound and if at all possible in my price range something wider then 17mm string spacing and generally an all around step up from the CC6 which I have no complaints about for the price I paid. Hoping to not spend over $750. I'm not too aware of the various different BTB model's and what they go for, and I don't know what kind of TRB6 I can get for that kind of money.. Cirrus's seem a tad out of my range and since I've played a Carvin 6'er I'm a bit iffy about them.
This is my mission.

Is that just a graphite covering on the front of the headstock? I noticed that Bill Dicken's Cirrus also has this feature!
Pretty much a standard feature of the Cirrus bass, except on a rare few that have a matching wood for the headstock.

If you ever get a chance, the handbuilt Curbows are absolutely amazing. They're a bit expensive, but they have probably the thickest sounding low B in 34" scale.
Yep, standard feature. Graphite reinforced neck with dual truss rod, too.
I had never really paid much attention to Peavey, but like nbw, I was searching for a 6-string that wouldn't break the bank. I actually found this one on ebay (brand new from a music shop in Connecticut) so I went to a local dealer and played a 5-string cirrus.
After being quite impressed, I got quite lucky, IMO. I won the auction for $809... it didn't meet the reserve price, but I emailed the seller to see what the reserve was. He emailed right back that it was set at $1100 and after telling him my max was $900, I asked if we could meet in the middle. Got the whole shooting match (including gold straplocks and case) for $1000 even. It even still had the plastic peel-offs on the pickups and control cavity cover!

So is that carbon fiber layer on the USA Cirrus's headstock there for any specific reason or is it just esthetics's?
But that is one mighty slick bass, astonishing that something like that was sold for one grand.
A bit expensive does not even come close to showing how far a real curbow is from his budget. lol. I've been gassing for a curbow since i got my cort curbow, too bad greg's moved on...
I think the BTB series are great for the money. I had a prestige and it really held it's own against my Zon. If the build quality is anything to go by, the 556 (i think) should be a great bass.

I got mine used and I always kinda wished it was fretted and not fretless.

Imo thats a good thing, the graphite weave is much more attractive than the wood ones I've seen imo!

That Surine is gorgeous. I've always been intrigued by them, the shapes are beautiful. Please tell me it has loads of bridge pickup honk!
