610/215 combo

I'd get 2 6x10s. With that many drivers you would get enough low end by default and clarity would be what you want. I'd love to drown out my band with 2 Mesa 6x10s.

Why are you set on 6x10/2x15?

A good quality full stack with enough power should get the job done.

If you want to be super loud, I'd do it with style- Schroeder.

I played a show run by another bass player, he saw me roll my 6x10 in and said he was going to run home and be right back. He rolls an SWR Big Bertha in about 20 minutes later, says he has always wanted to try a SWR 6x10 and 2x15 out together, I obliged if he would let me check it out too, so before the show started we played around with it.

I liked it, a lot. The SWR 6x10 is damn loud, but it lacks a bit of low end because of the high roll off, but I have always been happy with it. After that experience I will definitely pick up a BB if I ever find a used one I can get my hands on, they complimented each other well, and being SWR cabs they were still clear as a bell.

But I'll only want it for special occasions and so I can have a big cab in a practice space and a big cab that I can use if I need to go jam with people.

A 6x10 + 2x15 makes me think "prodigious masturbator".

i don't have the 610 any more though, i have a mesa diesel 215 instead.

If you need a rig like that, you really need to get a PA.

While you're not wrong in the first part of your post, :hmm: the second part doesn't sit so well with me.

With the size of the venues we play here, and the lack of house PAs and proper soundmen to run them , we consistently get the best results by leaving the bass out of the PA and running vocals, drums and guitars through it. At the one venue that has a PA with subs there is a tiny, horribly loud stage and so I only use 1 Bag End 15" cab raised up and I'm laughing.

Otherwise I used to use an NV610 with 2x BE S-15Ds, but now run the NV215 with the 610. The mix is superb and I can control my sound and the level in it.

Horses for courses.
