I got my shipment of steel and lexan, so have to make a bunch of bobbins and blades today, so I'm going to stick the Jazz sidewinder in there so I have a matched set to test out.

Well unlike that guy that makes cabs, no one has never not gotten an order from me, though some orders have taken a while, especially custom orders. That's often because I'm designing the pickup as I go, and will often make a few versions before I settle on the one they get.
As an example, I'm doing a set of quad coil pickups for a TB'er, and also a custom 6 string Lane Poor HB copy. Both require some winding and rewinding to get where I want them. This is stuff that goes into my regular models... I make multiple versions before I'm happy with them, and sometimes tweak the design slightly after that.
As far as Jazz pickups... I've been making a Neo set for a while now. They are a nice blend between a larger soapbar and a Jazz pickup. The Sidewinders will be my second set offered.
I'd like to keep pickups in stock, but I have a bunch of different styles, and never know what people will want. So instead I build them to order. From what I've been reading, I'm not that much slower than a few of the other boutique winders, though I'd like to be quicker.
But back orders are getting cleared up now and things should be back to normal soon.
And thanks to everyone for their patience.
Dude if I were you I'd just post longer lead times and get some SLEEP. I have to get up at 5:30 for work and I make sure I'm in bed by 9. Don't kill yourself.Unlike Bartolini, and even a few other boutique winders, I have no employees, it's just me. Another thing is even though I have been making pickups full time for the past two years (part time before that) I've had to take on some freelance graphic work to make ends meet. So I've been getting up at 6 am and to bed at 1 am every day for the past month.

I don't know why that is.
I get about six hours a night. I shoot for seven. The night before last was only five, and I was burnt.
Now I'm all recharged and have a day of pickup making a head of me. The set in question in this thread is getting packed up this weekend.
My pickup took a few weeks to go from David to Quebec city, they jammed a few day because of customs...
Those borders are a huge brake for delivering things on time...

the thing is that about 2 weeks ago 10-07-2010 I got an e mail sayng that they should be shpped by Tuesday, and yesterday i sent a PM asking for the status of the pups and i didnt get news until now.
I'm aware of customs and other stuff.

Yes, I'm sorry about the wait, and not checking my messages here. I've been swamped but am getting things out the door, just a little late. This week for sure!
The delay isn't the end of the world, but repeatedly promising and then missing ship dates most definitely IS, IMO. Good food isn't fast and fast food isn't good BUT telling customers to idle at the drive through for 3 hours is definitely not a way to make friends, influence people and get repeat business.
Fair point. In SGD's defense, I will say that my pickups were definitely worth the wait. I hope yours will be as well.

I want to say that I had good intentions that I would get the order shipped by those times. I wasn't just saying "the check is in the mail".
As I mentioned earlier, a number of issues back everything backed up, and it's taking longer than I anticipated to get everything up to date.
I've been selling pickups online since '08, and this is the worst delay in all that time.
But I'm getting back on track and should keep it that way after this backlog is cleared. (that includes some custom preamps).
David, you need to PM me and get our situation cleared up NOW. I would like to keep things to PMs but that will only work if you actually keep in contact with me. I understand youre backed up but that story will only work for so long. People will start coming out of the woodwork and some people have waited longer and have had more problems than the OP as you well know.

I just did, and as I have pointed out you have sent me like eight PMs in the last four days. I can't stop and answer each of those just to be telling you the same thing. Just so everyone here knows, your pickups were delayed because I was going to make a mold from the old laser etched covers. Due to the issues I had with that, I offered to make you a second set of pickups for free while you are waiting for the molds. Then you said I can make both sets in the new cases, and that's what I'm doing. I'm finishing up both your set and bassike's set, and will have them on their way by the weekend.
This is the first week where I have been home for two days to work on pickups. For the past month I have been working a freelance job so that I don't have to do like Q-Tuner and shut down the production of the pickups. I do not sell enough pickups to make a living at it, but I enjoy making them and plan on continuing making them.
So hang in there. There wont be a lot of people coming out of the woodwork because I am no longer that far behind on orders. I have three custom (non standard) sets I'm currently working on, and a few standard sets (a few for Tubby) that will be finished soon, and then at that point I will be caught up on past orders! But then I have a big OEM order that has to be ready for NAMM...
