'70s Fender Precision love

Teaser...

The name "TV logo" comes from the assumption that the bolder typeface was implemented so it could easily be read when watching a performer on television.

"Look ma, Danny Partridge is playing a Fender PRECISION BASS. That's what I want for Christmas!"

That's exactly what I did as a kid, only it was Jermaine Jackson whenever the Jackson Five made a tv appearance; Flip Wilson, Carroll Burnett show, Soul Train etc., Ha!!

Ooooooooo......

Nice grain under that Mary Kaye. Me Likey!

Thanks. It is hard to fathom why Fender would have put a thick (look in that pickup cavity) poly blonde finish over that beautiful ash grain. Pat sent me a new picture today and it is coming together nicely. I have not seen the neck yet but I know he's working on it. That guy is not only good but quick. He seems to work as fast as the paint dries! :)

That's much hipper, because Jermaine could really play. You mostly saw him with with a Gibson EB-3 in the early days until he was big enough to handle a Jazz Bass.

This '75 fretless P was my first good bass. I got it new when I was fourteen and about a year later it was stolen. It turned up for sale at L&M in Vancouver about four months ago and even though $1500 was more than I would have ever considered spending on a mid 70's Fender I jumped on it. Not something I'll play a lot but it's still in great shape and I'm pretty happy to have it back.
