I hadn't played with a pick in years, but when I played Just What I Needed by the Cars, I HAD to. And my P just rocked. I need to do that more.P basses rock with a pick
Ooooooooo......
Nice grain under that Mary Kaye. Me Likey!
That's exactly what I did as a kid, only it was Jermaine Jackson whenever the Jackson Five made a tv appearance; Flip Wilson, Carroll Burnett show, Soul Train etc., Ha!!The name "TV logo" comes from the assumption that the bolder typeface was implemented so it could easily be read when watching a performer on television.
"Look ma, Danny Partridge is playing a Fender PRECISION BASS. That's what I want for Christmas!"

Yep, this is true, you know your stuff ManThat's much hipper, because Jermaine could really play. You mostly saw him with with a Gibson EB-3 in the early days until he was big enough to handle a Jazz Bass.

@Salicete Looks like my bass-room now and I am far from being a kid! Ha!
I hope you still have that one.
Looks like a technics receiver back there too. I had one in the mid 70's that pushed 100 watts per channel through a couple of Bose 901'sI've posted this on another thread, but here is my first "real" Fender, a '77 Precision. Yes, I was a slob as a kid, as evidenced by this pic. Note the uber-cool 8-track player in the background.
