What are we? Your wife? :D If you want to buy it and you won't cause children to starve over it, buy it. But if you think your money would be better spent elsewhere, then don't buy it.

What else is new? Every time I want something, she makes that face. I point out people on here who spend more on one bass than I've spent in the last 5 years on gear, but that seems to make no difference. I did it to myself, though...in a rare moment of honesty, I confessed that I had all the gear I could ever need or want already.

LOL I could tell he struck a nerve (I guess you did also, he deleted the post?). You have been talking about new models in your stable lately ;)
1) Honey I saved $$$ much buying it now. :p
2) Show her JohnK_10's collection
3) And honey how many of those pair of shoes can you wear at one time? :smug:
Then bring home flowers :D

I was just trying to be funny, Jon. Didn't realize it would cause controversy and deleted posts. BTW, I love my wife like nobody's business, don't get me wrong. But JohnK wouldn't last 10 minutes with her ;)

Because she WILL question your need for all that stuff. Although, it sounds like you operate at a way higher standard of living than I do, so she might go for you. Hell, I might go for you, too!

:bassist:

i don't know if my standard of living has anything to do with it, but owning all that gear seems to have convinced my wife that she wants to learn to play bass, so i bought her one for our anniversary last month. i guess she figured, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. ;)

Wow! That was a big mistake (but you knew that already)!

This thread is nothing but Win.

Mrs. Bomb says nothing when I bring home new gear. But we both know that every dollar I spend on bass gear entitles her to spend a dollar on her whole scene. Hence the Vegas trip next week. So, my gear actually costs me twice what I paid for it. Basically I'm paying MSRP on everything.

It is a remarkably effective deterrent. Not a total one, but pretty good.
