9 String Bee Bass

It is working now.

That is some great playing. Did you start as a bassist, or did you study classical guitar along the way?

The bass is simply beautiful...congratulations.

Thank you! I bought both a flamenco guitar and a 4 string bass at the same time back in 1994 (first experience with any instrument).

I taught myself how to play both of them by practicing a minimum of 10 mins a day for the first year. It took me about a year to learn the basics on the instruments.

I have yet to put them down, messing around and coming up with new things, techniques and tunes, as the years go by. :)

Hmm, isn't B - Eb a little different for 9 strings? Granted, not that 9 strings fall anywhere close to normal, but on average don't most people go F# - Bb?

Tuning an "ERB" (with more than 6 strings) is sujbective to ones own needs. Some tune them in standard 4ths while others choose to tune the the finer 6 strings like a guitar for guitar chordings n' stuff.

I prefer my 9 stringer to be tuned in standard 4ths, with Bb (Low B) being the lowest string. If my bass was a 10 string, I would still tune it the same. Just personal preference ;)
