Out of the box:
Weighs in a smidge over 8lbs
Sky high action
Noisy / buzzy will shield
Nut high and soft plastic
Crap stiff sticky tuners
Decent bridge, knobs
Fit finish REALLY GOOD
Satin finished neck
Good maple
Nice medium C profile
38mm Jazz width nut
Frets finished well, no sharp ends
Frets level, able to achieve low action
A good solid basic Precision

I've got a pair of Super Ferrite soapbars in the Ric positions on a G Bass, a pair of Super Ferrite Ps in a parts P, and a Neo P that will go in a medium scale Warmoth build that's been on the back burner for a while.

I really want another pair of Super Ferrites so I can make a fretless faux Ric.

I've got the 916 Thunderbird-Neo pickup, it is just not installed in a bass at the moment.
I sold the Peavey Fury it was in but I put the ChinaBucker back in it before I sold it so I could hang on to the 916 pickup.
That means I'm in the club but not really in the club.

Yes, maybe that will further motivate me to put it in something here.
I have been concentrating on selling basses and whatever else I have too much of.
I've only got two Yamaha Attitude keeper basses left here and one beautiful blue Peavey Fury that is for sale on Austin Craigslist.
That leaves me with:
A beautiful (maple I think) Peavey body routed for a PJ configuration that is ready to be put together.
A poplar Peavey Foundation body that got the pickup routes filled in and a new route for a T40 pickup up at the neck heel.
Now I wish that poplar body was routed in the middle position for the ThunderNeo and I would just sell the T40 pickup.

Would you ever put the T40 in the neck and put the 916ThunderNeo in the Ric bridge position? That config would be a monster tonally (very doomy if you want to get there) but I’m not sure if that meets your specific tonal needs.

I was thinking of maybe leaving the T40 route in the mudbucker spot and put the Al-Neo TBird where the front TBird pickup normally goes (I think the same middle location as a split P). That is how the Yamaha Attitude Ltd bass is...split P pickup in the P position and a Dimarzio X2N-B humbucker in the mudbucker location, just like Billy's original Wife P bass was after he got done with it.
The T40 pickup is a better sounding pickup than a Gibson Mudbucker (a lot less mud) and I like a pickup at the neck heel if it's a good pickup. Can't go wrong putting a TBird pickup in the front TBird location.

My opinion on this is that if someone is even pondering the possibility of considering the act of thinking about, or has thought about the possibility of pondering whether or not to consider putting a 916 pickup into a bass, or bass body, that pics of said bass, or bass bodies, will in no way muck up this thread.

I must reiterate that this is my opinion, and as such, it's most likely to muck things up a bit.

So this body was a Gen 2 or 3 Foundation made of poplar wood maybe. I think Peavey was buying asian bodies at this point.
My son filled the two Super Ferrite routes with wood blocks and filled the third hole for the tone control potentiometer.
The plan was to just put a T40 pickup in that routed hole and it would be a better Epiphone EB Bass.
It will get painted if my son is ever not too busy working building cabinetry in 30 million dollar homes in Austin.
I can't paint a bass, so it gets done when it gets done.
My focus has been on lots of other stuff to get us retired and moved 1200 miles away.
I really like the 916 Al-Neo TBird pickup and would really like it in a keeper bass.
I won't touch the two Yamaha Attitudes because they are perfect and awesome.
I don't really need the Peavey maple PJ bass body either because my second Yamaha Attitude is a PJ Bass.
I just bought that maple body (not sure it's maple but something beautiful) because Peavey had finished it like a cloudy glazed donut and it needed to be rescued.
I bought it from Brown Eyed Girl Resale (former Peavey employee) and now it is finished with a good clear coat but I don't really need another PJ bass so not super motivated currently to put it all together.

Here is the body I bought from a former Peavey employee, then sanded it and clear coated it.
It is obviously made to be a PJ bass but my mind is wandering towards putting the 916 AL-Neo TBird pickup in the split P spot.
I would put a different trim ring around the pickup, probably a wood one made of something that would look good.
So, the question is, do I put the TBird pickup in the Foundation body in the middle where a P pickup goes or put it in the clear coated body where the split P route is....or do something completely different.
