Working on individual coil to string designs now. @XsoGol was interested in individual coil stuff. These are alot of work. I cant make this type cheap due to time involved but will try to keep pricing fair as possible

XsoGol has always got something cool cooking.

My days of accumulating has to end. In the next year, we are going to buy or build a house about half the size of the one we live in now, about 1100-1200 miles northeast of here, and we've got to pay to move whatever we are taking with us. Time to assess what we really need and what we don't really need. I hate it. :laugh:

The DS was built to be as close as possible to the original is size and shape. The coil is very close to the original ( very short ) and powered by Alnico 2 magnets. It is a single coil.

The Neo EB is very different. Humbucker , #44awg wire vs #42. EB is Neo vs Alnico 2 and the EB has alot more wire on the coils.

The Neo EB is a in-house design where the DS is a simplified version of the original to not require routing and keep the price down.

I've long been intrigued by individual coil designs. But if there's substantially more labor/cost in winding more coils, the obvious question is, what benefit/s offset that cost?

Not sure if there is a benefit , sound difference. Personally have no experience with this style build. They are far and few between. Working on these by request. Doing some design/prototype design to see what it takes to build , test a few out to see how it goes. One thing learned quickly is that these are a time suck. That's the main reason for the cost of these individual coil designs. Hopefully i can find someone that is familiar with various p bass pickups to test these out and give feedback. I do not have a bass rig here worthy of testing. This p bass set will be Alnico 5 rod powered with 1/4 inch neos for boost. Wanted to try Alneo for this p bass ser as the feedback from the Alneo T bird pickups have been extremely positive.

I upgraded the pots and cap in mine before I got the 916 pickups.
