A $1,000 power cable?!

Having been on the receiving end of an invoice from IBM, I think your power cable may have originally cost more than the one in the thread. :)

The company I work for OEMs thousands of IBM, HP and Sun servers. Our list price for a power cord is approx $40USD. Our margins are 80-90% from list... So our cost is $4-8-ish for the cable that powers a $20-100k+ server.

Maybe the $1000 cable in question will make the servers run faster, better and cooler though.;) I can only imagine the margin on a $2000 power cable. God, I am in the wrong business!:D

It looks like the cable lock for my bike. Now that I think of it, my bike's cable is pretty flexible and probably heavier gauge than the pictured cable. I think I'll add connectors and use it for a power cable! Or not.

Ok let me get my head wrapped around this. Your electrical service enters your house with something like 8 guage cable, goes into your meter and then the service panel rails, from there on out it goes to the circuits /outlets in the house via 12 or 14 guage romex (or bx where i live) now i connect my amp with this bull#%% $1000 cable and it does what?? Any artist that endorses this crap is obviously being paid to do so. Dont get me wrong the music buisness is tough no matter who you are and musicians have to pay rent and feed their families they cant afford to turn down a chance to make a few extra bucks.

I worked a show a few years back (Edgar Winter Group, with the Rick Derringer Band opening for them)...Derringer back lined a couple of Marshalls, but brought his own power cables, and they looked like these (except they were green)...He insisted we use his power cables...and we did (it was freaking Rick Derringer).

Note he also was the first person I ever saw with a Sonic Research Tuner...I thought that was so cool and accurate, I ordered one the next day.

Incoming service is usually 4 gauge. But yeah, other than the service drop you can buy a good breaker panel, all the breakers and all the wire for say a 1500 square foot house for $1000 or less. It's just a stroke job.

I use this power cord because I find I get fruitier, more whimsical highs, and a nice peatiness in the lower mids reminiscent of the scottish highlands

yer kord made out of regular "wire" is krap and not suitable for music making

Somebody explain to me what I've missed... A grand for a used power cord??

Must be a very rare cable that's not made anymore,it may have gold plated
wire, or it may be a type-o, maybe added an extra zero .
Just call BNW and ask, they have.a toll
free number...and let us know
