I had the same issue as along with rest of the people here. I draped a sarong over it and no problem now. I havent tried the spray so the sarong was the best and easiest solution . Frustrating isnt it?

Have you tried giving him something else to scratch on? We have a new kitten that we decided not to get declawed, and I was also concerned with carpet, etc, getting torn to shreds.

And, she has never shown any interest in scratching my cabs. Honestly, apart from going after the bathmat once, she hasn't tried to scratch anything she wasn't supposed to.
Maybe by giving him an alternative, he'll go for it instead of the cab. Oh, and I find sprinkling catnip on it helps draw her to it, too.![]()
