Of all things nice on this instrument, the best part to me is that the control plate is properly shaped and radiused to match the shape of the body. I see so many plates factory and home made that look like they came off a car or refrigerator or something else and don't fit right. Yours fits and looks nice. Well done.

Yep, the body is brand new

Try some dark stain and tru oil and it will be gorgeous. Tru oil is super easy and looks (and smells) great. I never finished any wood before, never even took shop class, but was able to make a drum look incredible the first time with it.
