i don´t want to "cheat" on nobody. If that works for you, fine...
You´re super clever..

Just wondering why i got to use an International Credit Card via Internet (im a foreigner like many others) and pay regularly just for uploading a profile picture. Don´t know of any other community or social network with that requirement.
Again, though, that's not the only benefit to becoming a supporting member.

that´s the point: why not free (like every social network) if it's that little

It's not THAT little. It's $20 per YEAR each (I would hardly call that "regular"), plus the money they get from advertisers and corporate accounts.

BTW, this is not a social network so to speak, it is an internet forum or "chat room." Someone has to pay for the bandwidth, hosting, etc. We all use it so some of us, not all, choose to help support. As a benefit those who donate get to post an avatar. It's not a right it's a privilege.

The age of entitlement is upon us.

I have been a supporting member off and on for a few years +, think it's a cheap addiction as opposed to drugs, alcohol or smoking, and less detrimental to your health. I am about to re up my supporting membership just because.

If you can't get your credit card out one measly time a year:

a) Run NOW before GAS gets a hold of you.

b) Buy a 25 year membership for $150, then you only have to get your credit card out 2 or 3 times in your entire life.

that little = THE AVATAR

I don't have any problems with TB policies. I am currently not a paying member. However, if there comes a time when I wish to have an avatar or if I felt like selling some gear, I will be happy to pay.

It's really the nature of any online forum. Forums themselves are no problem, usually just a handful of members who delight in flaming. Pick any topic imaginable and people complain in forums, as well as about the forums they've posted. Sometimes it gets irritating with all the keyboard warriors, I just shut it off. Then I hope maybe when I log back on, their Mom will make them go outside & play for awhile.

They're not free. Servers, bandwidth, electricity, hosting, forum software etc. all cost money, moreso with the number of.members here.

I can help so I do. Keep in mind I also pay to buy CD's so I may be out of touch.

Are you trying to say TalkBass is Socialist ;)

No, socialism would be demanding that all users contribute a little. This is more of a crowd sourcing situation.

im talking about THE AVATAR. If the AVATAR is such an insignificant perk inside a package of benefits
why isnt FREE TO UPLOAD THE AVATAR like in every social network in the world...
