A Different Pentatonic Scale

Generally speaking you'd have to say that the major/minor pentatonic is the workhorse for most musical expression in the West at least. . I certainly wouldn't recommend trying to learn all 330 patterns.Waste of time. But dipping into some of the more useful exotic pentatonics has it's place.

I find the Japanese pentatonics 21414, 21423, quite useable and pleasing.
Bout the only other ones I use a bit are the minor b5 ( blues scale minus the P5th. A mode of the melodic minor pentatonic 'kumoi' scale 21423) the minor pentatonic M7, ie harmonic pentatonic 32241 and the Dominant pentatonic 22332
