A Domestic Misunderstanding

I feel fortunate when I can keep up recycling the cardboard that arrives from amazon.
Though I admit I have two bass shipping boxes in the basement.
The best boxes from the last three years of purchasing.
This may motivate me to break them down to recycling.

For example: Guitar players often rave about the Eminence Ragin' Cajun 10" driver, so I took a flyer on one. No dice; it sounds boxy. The Eminence Governor 12" is a powerhouse driver, but it ends up being too chunky with my new amp. So I can either 1) leave the drivers in the cabs and put up with compromised tone, 2) get/build a new cabinet for each new driver I try, 3) throw the drivers directly in the trash bin, or 4) pull the drivers and store them safely until I can sell them. For option #4, nothing beats the original box.

This thread would have made a great Seinfeld episode.

Explain to me how empty cardboard boxes aren't trash again?

If you've ever put anything in a cardboard box, or purchased anything in a cardboard box, or noticed that many items come in cardboard boxes, then you already grasp the concept of the usefulness of an empty cardboard box. There are even entire businesses devoted to the making and selling of empty cardboard boxes.

If you get pissed at your wife for cutting up a cardboard box, I really feel sorry for her!

I didn't get pissed. I just thought it was one of those classic domestic misunderstandings where something minor ends up mattering to one of the couple.

What is starting to piss me off is the way so many members are failing to take the thread in the intended spirit and are choosing to turn this into a half-assed referendum on my character.

You sure do get mad easy.

Maybe you need to get la.... oh right... hmmm, i can see why this might be a marital issue now.

You guys don't have recycling? And you cut cardboard rather than flatten it? We should hear from the wife, too, can she get a guest account or something, or sign up? There's a lot going on here, and her side of the story would really fill in some details I think.
