A Domestic Misunderstanding

Here in Spain you must keep the box or the warranty is void, and warranties are 2 years.

Usually I work out how much space the empty box takes up, and if that space is more valuable than buying a new one if it breaks.

However, I moved house a couple of years ago and bought everything new, you guys can't even begin to immagine how many cardboard boxes I had to keep! :jawdrop:

I'll just "accidentally" put one of her delicates through the dryer and call it good.
Does she have a hair dryer? Do you have a charcoal grill? Once, loooooooooong long ago, I was out of lighter fluid. I used paper to get the coals going, but it wasn't quite enough. Looking to the days of blacksmithing, I figured more oxygen into the meager fire would get the coals hot. Hair dryers do a fabulous job of acting as a bellows.

Of course, doing her hair the next day, coming out smelling of hickory smoke...

We have a walk in closet. The narrow side just has two gigantic racks of shoes. When I talk about us needing to free up some space her response is "but I need them!" She lets me buy musical instruments so I can't complain too much.
We have two walk-in closets, with one being shelves from floor to ceiling, covered totally with shoes. We joke about buying a trailer to tow behind the motor home, just for her vacation shoes. She occasionally kids me about having 5 basses and an acoustic 12 string.

I worked with a keyboard player who had an endorsement deal with Cerwin Vega back in the seventies. While he was on the road his wife took one of his new cabs to the dump because she thought it was just trash in the garage. I think it may have had something to do with his "activities" on the road. He was no longer married when I worked with him.

I save all my boxes too. By popular demand.

KITTY CITY!

I didn't get pissed. I just thought it was one of those classic domestic misunderstandings where something minor ends up mattering to one of the couple.

What is starting to piss me off is the way so many members are failing to take the thread in the intended spirit and are choosing to turn this into a half-assed referendum on my character.

Excuse me but I do believe that you are the one who posted this ridiculous thing to begin with.
And I am somewhat ashamed that I actually got sucked into commenting on something as stupid as a domestic issue involving a cardboard box.
If you put yourself out there with something as banal as this you can only expect to get slammed.

I keep several cardboard boxes for various things, but they're stored flat. I used to have a lot more; until I discovered that cockroaches love the glue in cardboard. Now, the few boxes I keep are out in the garage; I spray them with Raid every once in a while; and let the Black Widow spiders deal with the roaches that survive... :)

It's posted in bass humor. Lighten up or ignore it. :meh:
