A good SS Amp suggestion.

The fender rumble 200 Should handle a pub easy enough. As suggested before I would check out the Fender Rumble club first. There is probably a setting out of place. Because that amp is plenty loud, I used one recently at a large bar with several hundred people and the volume wasn't even half way and one of my guitarists and drummer play very loud. With no PA the amp was plenty loud. And was heard all over the bar.

There is some choice that i consider myself also.
If i had the money: Aguilar DB751 is the awesome SS amp, little bit dark sounding but so much clarity, punch, dynamic.... but it's pricy.

GK 1001RBII if you take care of producing issue (Two transistors leaking making a huge POP powering on).

SWR Redhead: Solid sound! Huge punch!

Look into Trace Elliot, SWR... there is choices!

So hard to just give a generic recommendation not knowing what sounds good to the OP. Every amp will have a different sound, one mans recommendation may sound crap to the next person.

Having said that, after purchasing over a dozen different rigs (around two a year for the last 7 years) I'm happiest with my current setup. It's a neutral-voiced 250 watt class D micro with with a 25 lb. super 12 cab, plenty loud enough to play small clubs with... In fact everyone that hears it is truly amazed.

Cheap (relatively) SS amps that I have known that can sound good (sometimes with proper EQing, sometimes without):

Hartke 3500
Peavey Nitrobass
GK 400RB
Acoustic 150b
Roland Cube-60 Bass (combo)

Gimme old heavy solid state all day every day (though I wouldnt turn down an Ampeg v-4b). That's just me though. Play every rig you can among friends and at local music shops. Pay attention to the gear at live shows when you dig the sound. Recs are nice but no one else has your pair of ears and the brain between them
