A list of sealed cabinets

Is the ampeg SVT-412HE sealed?
The sight specs says it is:)
I'm interested in this cab, but if I take it home and find out it is made from OSB or whatever I will be pi$$ed.

Add the Hartke 810XL to the list.

Trace Elliot 1153(H), 2102(H), 2104(H), BM1, 1518, 1818,
1524, 1048(H), 1248(H), 1044(H), 1084(H) all had the tunable ports, but good luck finding the caps!

Are sealed cabs really so much better than ported with all tube heads?

I'm saving up for a fridge and can't make my mind up between Ashdown ABM 810 and Marshall VBC 810. I will buy an all tube later on... What should I do? Can't test them...

Sealed cabs have a much more even frequencey responce, but suffer in effiencey(not as loud)

I guess so...
I went from an Ampeg SVT-610HLF (ported) to a sealed SVT-412HE with my SVT-CL... The 412HE sounds better and tighter/punchier with a more natural response...
The SVT-610HLF is great cabinet though, it can handle a lot more power. It sounds great with my GK 1001RB-II...:bassist:

A 4" test plug for plumbing pipes will fit the ports of old Trace Elliot cabinets. It's not the prettiest, but it definitely works.

Thank you. What about Ampeg 410HE, 15E and 810E? Are they ported?
I'm not an Ampeg expert by any means and don't know about the 410HE, 15E or 810E. I've had some experience with the Portoflex 115HE that is often paired with the PF500 (I have one as a rehearsal rig at one studio). I'd guess that the 810E is sealed as AFAIK all the 8x10 fridge cabs are sealed.

I think they made a SVT410 Classic that was sealed too (i.e. 1/2 an 810/fridge).
