A Little Roscoe Fun

Here are two new arrivals fresh off the brown truck! They're both Standard Plus models, but neither one is what I'd call "standard". The Bubinga topped Century 5-string is wearing the Bartolini J-style pickups. The Buckeye Burl topped 5-string is another of the Rocket Music Limited Edition basses that includes Aguilar DCB soaps w/ the OBP-3 preamp along with a matching headstock and wenge fretboard. Very cool!

Nice basses. Love the Century Standard Plus 5 JJ. Been waiting to see that built. If I needed a 5 string "jazz" bass, this would be it. Very similar to a certain 6 string from a while back...

Nice, eh? :ninja:

...the color will be a "game time decision", based on a few things that may not be so visible in that photo. We sometimes select tops and body woods with our final color choice in mind, and it may HAVE to be a 'burst.

Besides, with that maple 'board and chrome hardware, how much more classic & classy can you get than a nice tobacco sunburst?

:bassist:

I don't know, that Roscoe Cherry Burst is fricking awesome!!! Maybe start with the darker Roscoe Red on the very outside then work into the color in the pic.

Burst is always great with the P/J sort of vibe of course.

Thanks to Gard I have my "new to me" Roscoe playing wonderfully with some super low action.
I'm dragging my bass back and forth to my girfriends a lot now.
Does anybody have a Roscoe gig bag for sale or recommend a good gig bag to make carting my bass and assorted farkles easier?
Thanks.

The Mono is a great gig bag. The storage isn't huge in it though. If you want more pocket space, then the iGig is good (but it's a heavy bag).

Just got my Century Standard Plus 5 - all I can say is wow! Just starting to explore the range of tones from the pre-amp - the push pull mid control opens up lots of tonal possibilities. The playability of this bass is off the hook - really low action, the neck profile is super comfy, easy to play. Here's a pic from the Roscoe facebook page:
