A Little Roscoe Fun

Hmm, this one is still available? I thought Arnold was going down to Roscoe about a week or so ago to try it and buy it?

Arnold sniffed around it. The timing didn't work out for him to visit & try it in G'boro, it was still in pieces when he was ready to stop by the Roscoe shop. By the time he was ready to come again, the bass was in Blacksburg. I might see him if he gets the sweats from these photos. :D

I've had quite a few new Roscoes arrive already this week... including a pair of guitars!

I posted this first one on my site last night, and it just sold this morning (thanks, Dave!). Why don't all my basses move that quickly?!?

You're welcome Greg!
Thanks for ordering it!!!

:D

I suppose I do. Unfortunately, I have too many things I want right now. A new fretless, that 5 PJ, to stay married…

And what about the 5 vs 6 thing? Maybe after I live with my 6 for a while I'll want to redo everything to 6. :hmm:

JJ 6
PJ 6
Soap 6
Fretless JB 6

My life would be so much easier if I had never found Rocket Music or Roscoe Guitars.;):D:help:

I just picked up a 1975 Fender P. I swore off 4-strings and P's a long time ago, but I am head over heels in love with this bass... so much so, I'm making plans to start a new band centered around this bass. Old-school R&B/Soul music with a horn section.

That said, I have no desire whatsoever to sell my Roscoe and Lull 5's. There's no rule saying all our basses have to have the same number of strings. We humans are marvelous, adaptable creatures. :D

I have sworn off them as well. I have a bit of an itch to play one these days. R&B/Soul is awesome. My old quartet did that. I played the gig with my Roscoe 5 though as we did some "smooth" jazz as well. I don't like to switch basses during a gig.

The Roscoe 5 will stay. The 6 is here for now. We'll see if the 3rd time's the charm. And certainly there's no rule about same strings or builders. Just having a little fun. ;)

I will say though, it's hard for me to "go there" when the Roscoe neck feels so good and the tone…well, we all know about that.

I may swing by the store today and noodle around on that American Standard Precision for a bit. Fender 4, Roscoe 5, Roscoe 6…could work. That particular bass has been there a while so I can get it for a pretty decent price.

The fretless itch may have to stay "unscratched" for a bit.

Well, I played the precision for a while today...I think I'd rather have Greg's PJ 5. I'm so used to the B string I'm not sure want to be without it. And I think I can play my 5 string like a 4. The B doesn't seem to "get in the way" like the B and C can on a 6.

That can be arranged. LOL :D

Hello, old friend. Old timers in this forum will recognize this bass. I've had it in stock for quite some time. I thought I had it sold about a year ago. A guy gave me a deposit and was going to chip away at it as a layaway. Sadly, the chipping away part never happened, so I have finally given up on that course of action. I flushed 10 months of time I might have otherwise used to sell the bass, but c'est la vie.

This bass is 4.5 years old at this point. It has never left my store, and it is absolutely considered new for all intents and purposes. That said, I want to find a home for it very, very badly. No bass should hang around a music store this long.

Please - no trades, no layaways. Cash, check or charge, and first come first serve.

$2699 shipped. For an Ebony board.:eyebrow:
